Awhile back I bought some Daughters and Ryan PenHooker 1lb bulk and enjoyed it a lot and on occasion added a pinch of St. James Parish Perique to a small batch and it was very pleasant.
I recently purchased a lb again and added a lb of their Windsail which I found to be drier than expected and while it smoked cool and tasted fine it smoked very quickly.
Now I'm one that has no problem with a short smoke and it's no surprise that I lean towards smaller bowled pipes but this was crazy fast.
I always buy Bob's Chocolate Flake by the 500 gram box so there is always a good amount around. While smoking some the other day when temperatures were in the 90's it wasn't the wonderful smoke I enjoy. On a whim I took equal bulk amounts of Bob's and Windsail and mixed them together in an empty OGS tin.
The next morning I made my coffee and w/o thinking I loaded my pipe from that tin. I wasn't prepared for what I was smoking.
Chocolate and orange goes together well and this is similar to the experience, it reminded me of sipping hot chocolate with a twist of orange peel then every now and then a little taste of cinnamon was experienced, all in all a lovely smoke smoking down to ash in the MM Diplomat with Plum Forever Stem.
I call this blend Bob Ryan's Daughters Chocolate Wind, take that FDA!
