I know a guy who goes to Sam's Club and buys Ramin noodles by the case. I told him he needs to get a Ramin noodles tribute tattoo. :lol:

Back a hunnerd years ago when I was a poor and starving student, we ate Rice-A-Roni. It was .19c for a box that would make a meal for 2-3 people. Shake a little soy sauce on it and you're good to go!

I've ate plenty of both Ramen and the San Franciscan treat whether I was starving or not.
And I too bought Ramen  by the case. It's good and quick just like Rice-a-Roni, later on I got strung out on Swanson Pot Pies and then Hamburger helper. Hey, back then I ate to live not like now living to eat.:lol:
And if memory serves me right I think Ramen was only about 19 cents back then too.

Oh! and Momofuku is just too close to some other mother I know. :suspect:

I love that stuff personally. It has a tofu-like quality in that it can be doctored up in a huge number of ways to make different dishes.

My favorite so far is two beef packages almost completely drained, two big tablespoons of cheese whiz, a pat of butter, jerk seasoning, hot suace and a ripped up slim jim. I do have to sleep on the couch when I eat it though lol

My girls love ramen noodles. There are quite a few brands out there now, even ones that are a bit better for you, without as much sodium and minus the MSG even.

My childhood friend's mother was Japanese. I grew up on udon and ramen hanging out at his house.
