I have been absent lately not by choice, but by necessity. We're in our ten hour work days, which generally means 11 hours at work. My family now has a YMCA membership so we're at the pool or exercising in some way most days of the week. This week being an anomaly because we have company from out of town. As it happens, with the 90+ degrees in our neck of the woods, as in so much of the country, I've barely smoked a pipe in the last several weeks/months. However, the occasional bowl is still a treat.
That said, here is my story. Early last week a crazy guy calls work. He is someone who was acting crazy and I asked him to leave. He threatened another employee and was barred, permanently. Almost a year later, he calls my boss, wants my number because he wants to press charges against me for murder. Yup, you read that correctly. He says I threatened "to kill him." Along with some other accusations, he proceeds to go further down the deep end. Needless to say, I never said anything of the sort of the man, he's just plain old out of his mind, oh and lying.
So, long story short, my boss gives him the brush off, and then he proceeds to say, "that's okay, I'll deal with him the way I know how to deal with him."
Now, reading between those convoluted lines, tells me that he's after me. As in most places of business, we can't carry weapons, not even a pocket knife. So, here I am, having to be super vigilant over the next few days, hoping that this guy doesn't show up behind me somewhere. I figure by now that he's just playing head games, but man, why are the crazies allowed to run around free.
Anywhoo, that's an example of one of my weeks this summer.
Hope everyone is well and enjoying the baccy!
