Well, I now have a Pete. #304 :D

I smoked some new Irish Flake in it yesterday, and I thought it was just Great !

The p-lip design was a whole new experience for me. The smoke filled my mouth, but I couldnt feel it hitting my tongue as I took a draw.

Now , that Ive settled down , after receiving the tobacco and pipe yesterday, I am going to try some Irish Flake in it again today, but at a more relaxed pace.
To try and evaluate under normal conditions. :D

Excellent!!! You beat me to a Pete, I have yet to grab one.

I'm wondering if the p-lip will work with me... hmmmm... would like to hear more about your beginning experience.

I dont see why it wouldnt work for you Kyle.

I thought it was pretty cool, compared to my other pipes, its like I didnt notice that I was actually drawing.

I guess it actually did feel "DRY", as the Peterson system states.
I dont know how to explain it really, but it definitely was "different" .
I am heading out to the shop for a bit, so I'll give her another go with some Irish Flake , and recap , with a little more thought.

I was all excited yesterday, my head was spinning :D LOL< even before I tried that baccy.
I had the day off, I had 3 packages show up that were pipe related.
I filled and labeled 24, 1/2 pint wide mouth jars, and logged in my journal 29 sample varieties of tobacco, I reviewed each, and logged in the blend, so I can know what I'm looking for while sampling. To help me figure out what I like.

OH , yeah, I admired my Pete :D the whole time.
I was in Hog Heaven ! going from only having Capt Black on hand, to a virtual smorgasboard in my cupboard.

I do want to Thank the 2 generous people that sent me samples, .
It made my day, and got me off to a great start in figuring out my taste.

Dusty

I really use my tongue a lot to stop the smoke at the stem, and enjoy the slow rolling smoke over the top from a standard setup... the p-lip would challenge my method a little (not something I'm opposed to--just have to try it!) :)

I would have been admiring and excited too--glad you're enjoying it! The "dry" system is something I want to experience, for sure. Ain't the experimentation and discovery phase a lot of fun? 8)

Capt. Black isn't so bad... I've had much worse. I've also had much better. :)

I like my Peterson pipes, they've been very good to me. One thing I did object to was the way they dipped the tobacco chambers in stain and I usually ended up sanding it out. I also prefer fishtail bits, especially in the straight models. I'm a clencher and a straight Pete with the P-lip tends to try to rotate in my mouth as I smoke.

Congrat's and Enjoy.

Thanks for the congrats guys.
:D I am very pleased with it.
Yesterday I actually sat back (in the truck, :D ) and enjoyed another bowl of that Irish Flake , for 45 minutes.
In doing so I noticed my tongue touching the stem too kyle, but, it was kind of nice , to not feel the smoke.
I chew alot , and I eat alot of sunflower seeds, so my tongue gets a little raw, and the pete makes smoking enjoyable in that aspect I think.
As smokey says , it is kind of "round" .

As far as pics go, plumber, I will take a few in a few weeks, when I have a few more :D
LOL, I went berzerk last weekend, and bid on 2 more petes , from the U.K.
They were going cheap, because they are not that shiny, and I didnt think I'd win them. But I did.
The rim is burnt pretty bad on one.

Well, another foot of snow since yesterday, and , its 5 degrees out, I better get back to pushin snow.

I have three, and all with p-lips. All are great smokers and I love the p-lips!

Very cool! Glad to hear it sat comfortably!

Now that right there is a way great lookin' pipe and no mistake!

Cheers,

RR

plumber, also a wonderful pipe.  Unless the deal is too good to pass up, my ideal Pete would be just like that: rounder bowl! Polish up that bowl a little, plumber, looks like there's some birdseye in there begging to come out for us--I'd love to look into all of her eyes... :p 8)

Yeah ! I really really want 303 someday. I really like the bowl shape too. When I first looked at the Pete lineup , it was the 303 that caught my eye.
Thats a dandy Plumber.

But hey,, :D I just got my 2nd Pete,, a 307.
Its huge compared to my 304,so Im thinkin its going to become my shop pipe.

I want to think I got it for around $30 or so from ebay. Stem was brown wood looked unloved. I had her shining once but I smoke her often and I have a tendency to fondle the wood while smoking and she gets dull
