Very impressive work... I love the colour stain and polish you've brought out in the pipes near the top of this page. Damn. There's too many nice pipes in the world and my pay-cheque takes its sweet ass time.

This ring grain made my jaw drop.
This "ring grain" man-made ... This is not sandblast it, this technique rust... :D

Yakslon, have you ever made a terrible pipe? I'm not much for straight pipes, but between your turning skills and photography, I'd replace my favorite shape in my collection for one. The force is strong with you, sir.

In addition, that blowfish a few posts up is probably one of the coolest I've ever seen.

Well then, nice rustication! That will teach me to rely on my phone's screen.

I bet they're among the nicest terrible pipes around. 8)

I think it was Erik Nording that took failed pipes and made a huge, wire-cage sculpture (in the shape of a pipe, no less) and filled it with bad briar...

...there I am rambling. Keep up the good work, Yakslon. I love this picture-thread.

I think this pipe says all about your skill!! To get the classic straight billiard with a tapered stem so PERFECT as you have done with this one and to have been able to get the grain to work so well with this shape is a sign of a MASTER ! :p It's a pleasure to see your work sir :p

Thank you! Indeed, the classic straight billiards, is a kind of standard. I know a lot of beginners, they immediately run to make freehand ... In vain, in my opinion. Until you can do a straight billiards, classical, anything sensible not work. This is the most complex form for me. Immediately visible errors. They can not hide behind ornate forms ...
