I've allready tried the search feature and did not find the
information I want. I'm trying to find out if some pipes i came by
are smokeable.

They are variously labeled "The Pipe" , "The Smoke" , "Venturi".
They are not wood but something like bakelite , with a carbon liner.
they are in pristeen mint condition no cracks , gouges etc.

It seems to me they might be ok , low maint. and easy to clean.

I would appreciate your experiences with these.

I wonder if they are Yellow Bole. Made of a synthetic material called Brylon or something like that. Pipes and Cigars lists one called "Spartan".

I have heard of these pipes before. "the pipe" pipes are made from brylon and often come in some pretty crazy colors.
A google search might find you some more info.

Here's everything you need to know about them, straight from the horses mouth :) I remember them from back in the late 60s early 70s. Were suposed to be THE thing for pipe smoking :) ( besides they looked cool with your gf's gogo boots and miniskirt clothes :p

I was in the local B&M this morn looking over pipes and there was a small assortment of pipes that looked sort of like Porsche Pipes for around 90 bucks. They were painted in metallic hot rod colors and looked rather cool. They were shapes I favor and I sort of wish now I inquired on them as to who makes them and what they are made of.

The print ads in the 60's Playboy mags that I have claim that The Pipe was washable in the dishwasher!

People collect them today. Contact the North American Society of Pipe Collectors to get in touch. www.naspc.org
