Just registered, and from western Iowa. Resurrecting some old pipes from 25 years ago. Have been into cigars for about 5 years but really like the pipe better. Looking for new tobacco recommendations to expand my tastes. Also Just bough a new Jirsa while on vacation, really like this pipe.
Looking forward to learning a few things, and hope to (maybe) be wise enough to contribute at some point.
Glad to be here, Chris

Welcome to the BoB forums Chris! :)

Three pipe tobaccos that I would highly recommend are McClelland Christmas Cheer, Rattray's Halo' The Wind, and Esoterica Penzance when you can find it.

Hello Chris and welcome to BoB, which Jirsa pipe did you plump for, be great to see pics of it, pipe porn is all the rage don't you know. ;)

Welcome Chris. I hope you enjoy the forum. There are a lot of great folks here.

Thanks all for the kind welcoming words. I will fire up the camera and get some pics of the pipe family.

Welcome to the Brotherhood, Chris. And welcome back to the pipes!

Council Bluffs, but I buy my baccy products in Omaha.
SG Roi, Ted's and Smoke Ring mostly.
I like Havana Garage but don;t get there often enough . . .

I too used to smoke a pipe about 22 years ago, only recently to return. Man oh man how things have changed. There is this new "internet" thing, and thus more blends than you can shake a stick at! Thus far I've basically just acquired a ton of tobacco, and only recently I'm switching to single-leaf or dominant leaf blends to try and figure out what I even LIKE better.

I don't recommend that way.

But, what I've done is just follow just about every recommendation I've heard, as well as

and it's worked for me. I like just about all of them. A LOT of good stuff out there. The only times I've really failed is when I pick up an unknown at a local store, unfortunately, since I'd love to give them business. But none of them are pipe smokers, and apparently they're taking the wrong advise!

Anyways, however you do it, have fun and enjoy, and welcome!

Welcome aboard, Chris. You're never too new to contribute. Even asking a question sparks a discussion that can enlighten many of us.

Good to meet you!

Thanks again to all for the kind words and warm welcomes.
I went to the review site, picked out some C & D blends and ordered a sampler.
The slope only gets steeper from here, I must now have TAD.
Anxiously awaiting the package, never would have know about them except for this place.

Chris
