Gentlemen,

Mark Ryan of D&R Tobacco will be introducing, in April it seems, a 'new' line of pipe tobaccos based on his well-respected RYO line, which sadly, will be no more by mid next month:

He has access to some very nice Perique, so it will be interesting to see what his 'new' pipe blends are all about.

D&R = Daughters & Ryan. Good quality, tasty blends, and nice folks to deal with. I just "put up" about four pint-volume Mason Jars of their blends for my better half to roll from.

I honestly wondered what some of those would taste like in a pipe. I hope they do tin packaging, if only because I really dig the logo art they do for the blends.

Hear hear! Mark is certainly a man of refined taste who has a very keen eye for gentlemanly, pleasing, old-style logo art (unlike some other American blenders who shall remain nameless), and given the wonderful work he has done in in building D&R from the ground up and constantly developing new, better, and exciting blends over the past few years in particular, I hope he succeeds in this. I think his Rimboche blends in particular would make fine flakes. I for one look forward to seeing what he does with all of this (by the way, I just put up quite a few mason jars of my own - my last order of his RYOs before the pipe blends debut).
