I got home from doing errends yesterday afternoon and a small box was on my porch, shipped from E.Texas. Since I did not find the name on the return address familiar I took out my trusty Case pk. and opened it up. Inside was a small felt bag and inside that was a small grp 2 sized Billiard pipe with a tapered stem. It has no markings on it but is a nice piece of cross-cut briar in a natural color. It's got an oval shaped shank and the rim has a classic inner taper from the flat outer rim ala many GBD's and BBBs . ALL in all a VERY NICE looking little pipe !! I figured out finally who sent it to me from the fact that he had done a post about his "clean-up " of a no-name dirty old pipe he picked up. He did a FANTASTIC job of bringing it back to life and once again a brother has floored me with his generuosity!! I've attached some pics he took of it after he'd finished it and I've just finished it's "maiden smoke" with some FM 2000. My fave "break-in" ;baccy !! I have smoked it once now and it smoked dry, albeit a bit warm as it has no cake yet but with time and more Red Va that ought to change !! As I said, it is a true grp 2 size being only 4 1/2" long OA. But rather than being a typical "nose warmer" with a merely a short stem and shank, the bowl and stem are all in proportion to it's length.
This was another amazing act of generosity by a brother here and again has really meant a lot to me!! Thank you Ron !! Here's the pics he took:
