I think these are one-shot by definition. Kinda like McClelland Christmas blends. If one loves perique, I don't know how these can be resisted. I just like it, so I'll leave these to the real fans.

Yeah, they do seem to be intended for a limited run. I have come to appreciate Perique much more in the past couple of years and would love to try them to see if I could pick up the nuances.

My understanding of the regs are that in the future they would not be able to create a one off like this without spending a ton of $$ to get it approved thus making the likelihood of a company producing one slim to nill. They would have to price it astronomically high to recoup expenses and take the risk that nobody would like the blend.

What I keep hearing about the regs makes no sense. It is the same tobacco as always, just in new combinations.

Imagine what a chef would go though if any new dish would have to register because a second dash of ingredient X was added instead of just one.

Should be interesting to see how it shakes out. Perhaps a pipe-smoking judge, about to lose his new favorite, will chime in.

I'll have to put those on my Christmas list. At $8.52/ ounce for the Perique Series, and $11.36/ounce for the Arcadian Series, I would wake up some morning looking up at a pot of boiling Crisco over my face if I went there.

They do sound great though, yes indeed. I'm always curious about different types of Perique.

A shame......... But somebody will bite, and I hope to learn from there how they are!:(

If I can trade for some, I will. I'm not currently buying any tobacco. A shame in this case as I love perique.

Does anyone other than myself see the prices for this tobacco a bit steep? At $20.00 a pop and only getting 1 3/4 ounces is a "No Way" for me.

They are expensive, but Russ O wrote elsewhere it was because of the higher production costs of making the perique. As much as I want to try them, I had to pass, too.

I totally agree. I may have to sell some of my stash and take advantage of the price increase. Good ol' Capitalism.
