Newbie from Ohio

Hi all! Just want to start by saying what an incredible forum and community you have here. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a long time cigarette smoker, and always wanted to try a pipe. Last week I bought a cheap corn cob and a pouch of prince albert tobacco. After a few bowls and several articles I read online, I finally learned how to properly load my pipe. Who would have thought it would be so intricate! Then when I got a $50 gift card for Christmas, I upgraded. Not alot mind you, but a nice straight stem Lucienne pipe ($25) 50g of CAO Cherrybomb pipe tobacco ($10) and a nice tamp/cleaning tool ($5). I gotta say I love it, and am looking forward to learning all the nuances of a good smoke. Being a former cigarette smoker, it took some getting used to to learn how to "sip" my pipe, and roll the smoke around instead of sucking in and inhaling like theres no tomorrow. I wish I had gotten some pipe cleaners though. Got some "gurgling" going on now, but nothing too bad. Anyhow, sorry for the long post. If you've just switched from cigarettes, you're in for a real treat! (definitely get some pipe cleaners, though)

I can relate about switching from a deep drag or bigger puffs from smoking cigars as well, but like you, the experience and possibilities made me sit up straight!
