Borkum Riff was very, very big when it first came out.Relatives gifted
me pouches of it several times.I think it was the invention of R.L.Will,
the German behind today's Solani blends. It sold for 79 cents a pouch
back in those days.

My neighbor just left a three-year hitch in the Peace Corps on a small Polynesian island, and all he could get was BR Bourbon Whiskey, which he smoked in a pipe he carved himself from local wood and a reed of some kind. I gave him samples of GLP, C&D, SG... but all he wanted was his Borkum Riff again (and a place that didn't snow, but that's not my department.)

Puff Daddy, you caught me off guard,,,,,,eggnog out the nose is NOT pleasant,,,,

The last few years my dad was living BR was all he smoked.

When I first smoked a pipe, ummm thirty something years ago, all I smoked was BR Whisky. When I picked the pipe up again last year I went back to BR. Could not abide the taste of it. Don't understand. Back then it was sooooo goooood. :?:
