I live 50+ miles from the nearest B&M. The good news is that I commute to work that far and one is just a few blocks from where I work. It's a pretty decent B&M with a decent selection of McClelland tobaccos that I love. I try to buy exclusively from him to support his business and my future in pipe smoking. His pipe selection is decent but he doesn't carry many of my favorite brands. I have bought a few pipes from him though. I buy as much pipe accessories and cleaning supplies from my B&M. The only time I purchase online is when my favorite B&M doesn't have what I'm looking for. The nice thing is that he will order tobacco and supplies that I will purchase on a regular basis. I wouldn't trouble him to buy just one tin of something I want to try. I fear that the luxury of online tobacco and pipe sales at great prices may only be a temporary thing. I hope not for our sakes but Big Brother has it's eyes on it and is salivating as we speak.

We used to have a nice local B&M. They never carried any tobacco I was interested in, but a nice range of pipes and I always bought my pipes there. The owner passed on and the nearest store is 250 miles away so it's all online now.

Besides missing the socializing, there's a sadness in having to buy a pipe from a picture.

There's no B&M near me.
