I have yet to find something that matches the sweat and leather that is so prevalent in the first quarter of the bowl.

give Captain Earle's Mystic Blend a try , it's the closest thing to Penzance I've found.

Old Ironsides is a close second, somewhat flatter than Penzance but still in the same ballpark. 2 oz tins and 8 oz bags can still be found. Germain's Latakia Flake is a little more Virginia based, and has a somewhat sweeter backbone.

Loving this stuff. I was very lucky to stumble across some tins online about a month ago ( if you believe in luck). I have fallen deeply for it since. Seems to be more wet than that of my buddies tin.

I enjoy it very much, but don't find myself smoking it often. Dunno what thats about, maybe its the hard to get factor in the back of my mind?
