Real quickly, as I'm running late this morning, these spring-leafed chrome windscreens are a great investment.

The wind was howlin' like an S.O.B. this morning, and I recalled I should probably try the sucker out. With a little bending to fit a wider bowl (as was mentioned by someone recently, they're pretty tough and can handle it) I was able to duck for cover and have a smoke for an hour. No lap full of ashes, no hot burning bacca,

Originally I got it to hold a pipeful of tobak for the road, I do have to say, its intended purpose, it works. I usually just use a cupped hand and fingers to get away with this, but for hands-free smoking, you won't be disappointed. Add a couple to your next order.

Just had to report my findings--it saved my smoke! 8)

yepper, they are handy.
They come in handy keepin ashes from blowin in your eyes when your haulin a - - on a 4 wheeler too. :D

OH MAN!! Next thing you'll be using "softie" bit covers :p But your right they DO work in the wind. I need to get another as the spring in mine has gone ( I think I burned it up !) and it doesn't really "clamp" as well anymore ! But they ARE THE thing for smoking in the wind :p

Yup I have one and they do work well...and look really neat also. Happy puffing buddy

This is the second recommendation I've read of these in the last week. I'll look into grabbing a couple.

I make the best lid/windscreen in the entire industry! Period. Solid lids, dome screen lids, lids with lighting holes, lids with screened lighting holes, double lids...the variety is as endless as the technology. Established by me. I hope I can help you with any questions you may have on the subject. The device that worked for you is sub par to the experience you could enjoy with my trademark lids. AND theyre Made in the U.S.A { '>'}__,~ £°√€, ¶ia

I am curious now. Pics or link?

I checked out her website ff. Seems like the kind of thing you'd find at the Tobacco Pouch.

*boggle* Brain melted after looking for the site. Like a cross between MySpace and Geocities.

Does myspace or geocities hurl obnoxious music at you with no option to turn it the hell off? I think she might have the advantage there.

Yes on both counts.

Terminal eye cancer.

Reviving the thread...

Are these screens somehow a 1-size fits all deal? I tried various sites and they all seem to just list one type/size...no options. I spilled a shiload of freshly-lit ashes on myself a few days ago outside. Methinks I need one for doing yardwork. :)

Tony, yes they have a spring and clips in them that you squeeze together and it fits the bowl you are using. I use these quite a bit, I was in some heavy wind the other day at work without one and was really wishing I had thrown it in my pocket.

Sweet. Sounds like a must-have, indeed! Thanks Simple Man (and Kyle for the thread).
