SG Chocolate Flake. Yum!! By plug, I mean rub, fold, and plug.

Yes. Right now, Peterson 3P's. It's dense. It's good. Has just enough nicotine to satisfy. I love dark, sort of tar-like plugs. Shaves well with a good knife.

I have a chunk of Dark plug and Kendal plug. Both taste great but are a bear to prep, especially the Kendal. Hard as a brick.

I understand 3P to have some type of top note?
Yes. In the tin, a lot like Irish Flake. But it doesn't seem to make it into the bowl, or at least, I cannot taste it. Milder than Irish Flake.

I'm looking very close at buying a lb of Cannon Plug...

Any thoughts?

I've thought about Cannon Plug as well, give us a review when you do.

The only plug I've tried is C&D Briar Fox; It pretty much crumbles in your hands, flavors not bad either.

I've had several of C&D's 'plugs'.

They aren't what I would consider a true plug. They are 'pressed' but not to the point of solidifying the way I think of plugs.. You'll never cut a Flake off of C&D, it will do as you said and crumble.

Briar Fox is good stuff, a tad 'dry' tasting but good non the less...I keep several tins on hand.
I like Night Train quite a bit to.

Discounting the honeydew flavor, this is probably similar to 3P's. A bit milder, but still similar.

I like Best Brown and all it's variations. I also like the Gawith Hoggarth Brown Flake. These all have some grassy, hay-like taste to them. Varying medium strengths. The different flavors make them more interesting.

Kendal plug is my favorite, it is sweet and smooth, the scent of the plug almost makes me want to eat it. I just turned my friend onto it and he enjoyed it, even the process of cutting it and rubbing it out. The other thing I really like about Kendall plug is that it is not a nicotine bomb that most plugs are!

My second favorite is Grousemoor plug...it is sweeter than cannon, softer and almost gooey with flavorings. Cannon and Grousemoor are both lakeland plugs which smell floral..literally like perfume or some air freshener but they are quite tastey, just be sure to dedicate a pipe to them! I found a smaller bowl, or a short fat bowl worked best for grousemoor. The other thing I like about Grousemoor and Cannon plugs is that they pretty much taste exactly how they smell...unlike other aromatics that can smell yummy an taste horrible

I've got a pound of each chopped up and put into mason jars.

I got a peterson 3P the other day. i like it, but as i am new to plugs, I would like to

learn the correct method for preping it to smoke. I shave off a little and crumble it the best i can.

thanx

That's what I have been doing. Nice sharp knife, simply shave it and sort of rub it out a bit. Pack it lightly as it will expand some in the bowl when heated. Great flavor. Long lasting.
