Praying Over Tobacco

Good morning BoB's, I found this interesting article from a Smoking Pipes email. I have done this but not consistently, and I have religious beliefs. I almost always pray over my food and ask that God bless it for nourishment. I am going to try to remember this for my pipe.

You do realize the Potawatomi tribe is from Arizona right, lol.

You are correct sir. They have a large population in Iowa and Kansas. In fact there is a Potawatomi county in Iowa. However. there is a small group here in Arizona but it is not federally recognized.

In looking them up, I found that they have a name for their type of tobacco at this link. The picture looks like typical tobacco to me. Also, some other articles tied the type of tobacco used by Native Americans to Nicotiana rustica.
