One more thing; Internet tobacco sales could
become a thing of the past at any moment.

Every McClelland's Flake I have tried (and I am a fan of their tobacco) from new to 2001 are actually not a huge difference, some just not earth shaking. However then I opened some Cairo that was 2007 and after that very nice fruity smell and taste I had to know what new was like and I got to say it doesn't seem like the same tobacco at all. SO I will leave it that I agree about that one some tobacco, but on others, maybe a big enough difference that it is not overstated at all. I have been trying to figure out what made this particular tobacco so different than others I have tried.Hermit":pkai5vt7 said:Not to start a whole new debate either, but I've had my share of aged tobacco. Just opened a tin of 8 year old EMP last week to compare it to the new stuff, as a matter of fact. Age plays a factor, but in my opinion it is waaay overstated. I know that statement will blow some minds around here, but that's reality. I'm not knocking aging. It's a bonus. Newer tins are still quite enjoyable.
Look, people have all kinds of justification for what they do. You have yours. I have mine. I just wanted to make sure Frumplestiltskin had different points of view to help him make a choice. Mission accomplished.

I think if Big Brother decides to tax the common laborer into subtle slavery on pipe tobacco I will be looking for outlets on the gray money route. Our whole tax system needs to be flushed and reborn into a flat percentage that is fair and then let the tax people learn to live on what they get. After all we have to learn to live on what we earn. If it were up to the people to vote on what is fair and at the same time would work I am sure things would be in much better shape.. But as of now we are only allowed to vote on what the big boys let us vote on.hobie1dog":jjx6t1zx said:Do all of you have provisions to make sure someone gets your tobacco when you die? I don't want to get into the politics of that, although a pox on a government that so shamelessly rapes its citizens in the name of doing them a favor (and it is only different from other governments by degrees and in the area of the rape, I suppose) but think of how blessed we are here in the U.S. with our current excise taxes, as high as they might seem.
I will tell you this: that will change. Money is in very short supply. You do not need to be a genius to understand that taxes will have to be raised and
tobacco is an easy, and almost willing target. Indeed, the stage has been further set by the new Surgeon General saying that just one puff of a
cigarette can kill you. Or even the whiff of 2nd hand tobacco. I am not exaggerating her egregious statement. Does it not then logically follow that
taxes on the product should be seriously increased?
No, it does not logically follow, not by any thought process I have been taught, but Congress uses their own system, and tobacco tax increases are
probable.
What I am trying to tell you, and since I don't sell tobaccoso this puts not a sou into my pocket, is that you had better do a little stocking up now. At worst, it will give you some well aged tobacco.
Heed me.
