Woke up this morning thinking about the old boy.
Decided to smoke a bowl of GH&Co Dark Flake Unscented he had sent me.
:D

Kinda dreamy right now so pardon if I'm less than fluent.
Ken was good people. No, Ken was even better than good people.

You know this Shadow guy running around? He's good people... Ken did the same thing with explicit directions not to tell a soul.

Ken battled some physical, mental, and financial demons daily. He was sick for along time. The medicines he was supposed to be on cost a fortune. Yet every secret Santa, every box pass, every random bombing he joyfully gave. When I was drawing Ken on secret Santa I knew whoever got him was getting a pipe And 6-8-10 year old premium tobacco.

He didn't type much but when he did people listened. I imagine he had the same quality IRL. I miss the old boy. Lol guarantee he'd be busting my ass for some of the stupid **** I've pulled on here.

My heads in the clouds, a tears in my eye.. miss ya old buddy.

Yeah, I think about him everytime I see your signature,,,,,"Pacem en Puffing!"

Ken would be having a birthday on sunday. He was a good soul and a class act.

Yeah...

I remember big ole Tony F discussing possibly buying a Calabash.
Lol.. Ken sold him one and then wouldn't let him pay for it. Lol

He and TJ were like Siamese Twins. Very different backgrounds & circumstances, but on the same page, always . . . it was neat to see.

I suspect they're continuing where they left off here "up there."

:cat: :face: :study:

Time to crack a jar of Somerset Slices in Ken's honor.
Excellent idea! I still have a jar of that, it will be my sunday morning smoke.

Dang. I think it was about two years ago today that I spoke with him on the phone. He had just got out of the hospital after nearly dying. Had been there for a couple weeks and still the first thing he did when he got home was walk down to the Post Office to mail his Secret Santa package. I called and his wife said he was napping, but he wasn't asleep and insisted he would chat on the phone a bit. You would never have known he was ill by the sound of his voice. Miss him.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts PB. He sounds like he was great person. Wish I knew him.

Ken was a fine, gentle man. I traded with him several times and always got more than I sent. I still get a chill when someone revives an old thread and I'm reading down the comments and there's his old avatar. His observations seem even wiser now than when I first read them.

Natch

And we all miss him at the Sherlock Holmes Pipe Club as well. Good memories PB.

For anyone like myself who didn't have the honor, either, go back and read some of his posts and interactions on the forum. I found myself smiling and laughing more than once. What a character he must have been. :)

I was the recipient of his generosity on a couple of occassions. He was a man of quality. I sure miss his posts. Tonight I will smoke a bowl and drink a toast to him. Bran, thanks for the reminder.

Doc, I envy you fellows.

I tried on more than one occasion to get up there but it never quite worked out.

Ken was as fine a man as anyone would want to meet. He actually talked me into trying Burleys again after many, many years of avoiding them! Hard to realize it's been two years. PB...Thanx for the reminder!!! FTRPLT

The fellow was a great lover of cheescake, how could he be anything other than awesome, wish I had known him, I know the feelings you're experiencing right now all too well PB, thinking of you Bud.
