I was stuck offline for a bit, but my Secret Santa nailed me in the interim. And how! I can be a picky puffer, but the jolly old elf managed to hit me with a cheerful triumvirate: blends I've tried and loved, blends I've always wanted to try but never found, and blends I'd never heard of but look right in my wheelhouse. All this, plus dark roasted whole bean coffee and a lovely card! Here be the spoils of my generous patron:

Tasteful card:

Rude coffee:

And finally, enough toby to make a miniature tree!

All told, there were a baker's dozen of tins, many of them extremely old, extremely rare, or both, and three generous ginormous samples. The full roster reads as follows:

-Three Peckered Billy Goat Coffee
-Bag o' Bufflehead King Eider circa 12/2004
-Bag o' Bufflehead Ring Necked Duck circa 04/2005
-Tavern Tobacco Company Thunder Road circa 05/2005
-PCCA Tudor Castle Series Arcade circa 2008
-Exclusiv Royal Mild Granulated circa 2006
-Sutliff 1849
-Cornell and Diehl Guilford Flake circa 2012
-C&D Cellar Series Chenet's Cake
-G.L. Pease Six Pence
-GLP Chelsea Morning circa 2010
-GLP Jack Knife Plug circa 2011
-GLP Telegraph Hill circa 2009
-GLP Haddo's Delight circa 2004
-GLP Cairo Circa 2003
-GLP Renaissance circa 2003!
-Hermit Tobacco Vintage Series XVC2 circa 2006!!!

I don't know what to say, other than thanks, and yum! I would say I'm extremely fortunate to have found myself such a fun and friendly group of puffers, but of course it's not good fortune that leads to things like this Secret Santa, but the warmth and generosity of all the individuals involved. So thanks again to each and all of you, and a hearty huzzah to my considerate Santa in particular--will be raising a glass of single malt and a bowl of bufflehead in your honor this very eve!

Way to go Santa's! We are real close to finishing up. I think I have heard from all but one on shipping and he's working a lot. Keep an eye out for brown trucks, white vans, and your usual Postal Service routings. Santa's are employing various methods.

Ho ho ho! :santa:

Santa must have thought I was really good this year! I received a rather weighty package late yesterday and was floored when I opened it up!

I will get a pic and list put together to post later tonight, but just wanted to post up that it had been received. Thank you again so very much Santa! :santa:

Santa must be getting old and a bit senile, as many of us seem to be on the good list, and I'm sure we're all not that good! I know I'm not, and I was also blessed with some wonderful gifts, including something I was really in need of at this time.

Out of town at Mt. Magazine, (the highest point on Arkansas) at a beautiful resort, in the middle of a rather nasty ice storm! So I'll post pix and descriptions when I get home next week.

Natch

Sorry for the delay. My package was well received. Will post pics/details later. Thanks Santa.

Natch, you're so right. Oh-so right.

Grossbart, ya done got nailed, too.

Aside from tobacco, pipes, and coffee seems to be "the thing" this year. :D The fact an alligator also made an appearance is also a good sign that Santa 2014 is gonna go down in the annals of BoB as a good year.

Why we were considered so good, as Natch pointed out... <img class="emojione" alt="?" title="" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/png/1f937.png?v=2.2.7"/>

If Santa thought we were the good guys, it really makes me wonder what the bad guys were like??? :affraid:

Or what the really "good" guys and gals got :santa: :rendeer: oh to be them!

Update again.  I have heard from all on shipping.  Packages are still en-route for 6 recipients, or I have not heard from them yet.  Hopefully all will be received by Monday 12/22.  Cutting close.  Keep our fingers crossed and check those bushes at the side of the porch good!  Ho ho ho!  :santa:

I sent two PM's out for those that have been delivered or should have been by now. That leaves 4 that will be kicked out of Santa's sleigh any second.

I missed a delivery. Often do. So 5 are waiting. Hopefully today and tomorrow will get it down to just one or so waiting. Postal service is running late as is the brown & white trucks. Ho Ho Ho! :santa:

Took off work so I could have the washer machine repair guy come by, he did maybe 30 minutes of labor and it was $293 (in all fairness the main control board he replaced is $150 . That one smarts, but after he leaves what you know that I get a knock on the door from a mail lady. What I got makes up for it ! A Jones sandblast candian, 5 tins of smokers have tobacco, a bag of pipe cleaners and a very nice note with incredibly nice handwriting. This by far the most comfortable stem in my collection. Blows my dunhill out of the water. Smoking some in-b-tween mixture now!

Thanks Brothers I am so happy to be part of the of this board.

Will get pictures soon can't find the memory card for my camera. :D

Way to go Santa! Ho ho ho! :santa: Nice handwriting..........................leaves me out.

So I gotta ask as a new guy...

What's with the alligator?
We could tell you, but the scope and value of the story is best described through the actual progression of events...

So I must begin by apologizing for my delay in getting the haul posted. It has been absolutely ludicrous at Ye Olde Company, but alas I am finally on vacation. So upon opening my package, I was greeted by three carefully wrapped gifts, and knew it best to take a quick picture before I tore into them like a rottweiler on a t-bone.

Behold the bounty that awaited me within:

Included were tins of Exhausted Rooster (my personal fave VaPer at the moment), Escudo (which I've been told will rapidly become my fave once I try it), JKP, Field Master, and Punchbowle (a blend I must say I had never heard of before. What's more there were samples galore of Peretti blends and Pipeworks & Wilke with an additional surprise or two detailed below. Finally, a lovely Rockwell knife and an 8deco bamboo tamper!

Peretti:
Tashkent
Oriental #40
Omega
Royal Blend

Pipeworks & Wilke:
#10
#524

Stokkebye Luxury Navy Flake

Hearth & Home Yule Log

Seattle Pipe Club Plum Pudding

and to top it off

A huge sample of 5 year old Larry's Blend

Thank you very much, Santa - This will certainly keep me busy throughout the cold months (maybe through the warm ones too!)
