I smoke a lot of BBF and every now and again, if overzealous, I get bit from the steam. If I'm smoking stuff that is really moist I find it heats up from the steam burns my tongue a bit.
Solution...dry it out more and take it easy.

Good advice! Good to see you posting again. You've been missed. Don't be a stranger and drop in and say "hello" every now and then. We like viewpoints from all around the world. :)

Here to report some success. I dried some Lakeland dark on Mr Coffee for a few minutes until crispy dry, loaded up one of my tiny pipes and lit up. I got to the bottom of the bowl with the only tongue tingle the usual one I get from Kentucky/Burley. It was a lovely, flavourful smoke, similar to ODF but with more subtlety.

Will do similar with the Cabbies Mixture and let you guys know.
