From Pipemaker Chris Askwith comes this Canted Volcano Sitter with Mastadon accent and white stem. Still keeping it smokey with Wessex Campaign although this tin won't go as far as the other tins I've smoked.

As readers of this board may remember, one thing I've never warmed to is a white stem on a pipe. Never. It always seemed to stop the flow of the "movement" of a pipe's aesthetic.

Until now. There's egg on my face, or at least my beard, because I absolutely LOVE the look of this pipe, white stem and all. it's drop dead gorgeous, it "works" and I wish it graced one of my pipe racks.

While I'm at it, I must say that Chris Askwith is one maker who really seems to e4xperiment with a lot of different combinations of material, colors, shapes, etc. He's not afraid to take chances and I admire him for that.
