BAM! Olie Sylvester's Monstrosity, of the Demon variety. This little fella's name is Keshi, the horse demon.

Rusty how do you like this? I've been looking at Olie's pipes online but I just can't decide if I love them or find them ugly as all hells

Indy, all I can say is, for the price, it's one damn cool pipe. Actually, I probably would have paid more than I did if that's what it was being sold at... I'm a sucker for the ugly one's.

As far as craftsmanship is concerned, though it seems funny to talk about the quality of a deliberately F'd up pipe, is really quite good. The drilling is great, the draw is how I like it and because Olie does this on purpose, he does it real well.

I think if you picked one up, you'd be pleasantly surprised.

Besides the fact Keshi looks like it has dried secretions caked on the shank, why is it ugly?

No comment... Except that one. And that.

It is not the pipe that is ugly, but the story behind it.

Not sure if I have any pipes that could be classified as "uglies".

However I did just snag a GBD estate that only a mother could love. It's more "homely" than "ugly"!

Alas I don't have a digital camera, and the pic has been taken down from the e-tailers site. If there's a way to access their archive pics I'll try and post it.

It's from smokingpipes, so if any of you know how to do this then please lmk.

Cheers,

RR

Here's my ugly, it also gets some bonus points for its strange factor. The stem is horribly oxidized. Interestingly it's stamped Italian Briar made in Italy. It was given to me as a gift from a friend I play a lot of music with. He found it at a big antique sale.

The look on the bull's face is like he's very worried about something. You should call him "Ferdinand." 8)
