You got me.... it's a tradition where i come from that the father make the ceremonial Circumknife and then completes the task. Wear goggles (made that mistake with the first one). Then the kid gets to have the ceremonial circumknife and the left over skin on his Bar Mitzvah. Real touching tradition all around.
