You just have to hit the shops more often Kyle. I don't think the pipes are there long. I have managed to score several times. Trouble is I sometimes over pay if it is a pipe that I know of but have not been following the prices. I over paid for a GBD Canadian recently. but I am a sucker for Canadians so I will keep and enjoy it. :bounce:

OK picture or it did not happen you say!

You guys are in the wrong kind of places, probably. By the time your locales started getting really populated, the old farts who smoked pipes were either starting to vanish, or stayed home.
We're not "Mayflower Family States," but gimme a break, Yak. I think what happened is the casino busses that brought the retirees up from California started pawning their pipes to go to Indian casinos instead. :lol!:

I think people are snappin' 'em up, and I don't have the time or money to crawl the stores four times a week like I did once. Meh.

I haven't tried any pawn shops. I've found most of my decent pipes at smaller antique shops. The out of the way places, I've even found small antique shops in Phoenix. If I can get a chance I'm also going to start going to flee markets, you never know what you'll find there.

I found the largest Nording I've ever seen at a pawn shop, in fact, the owners were cool enough to call me up and ask me if I was interested... It was $50. I figured, "...what the hell." It was practically unsmoked. I've since passed it on to another guy who can't get enough massive pipes, but...you never know what, when or where pipes or related stuff pop up. Makes the search that much more fun. Granted, I wish I got more encouragement locally but...luck and tenacity and all that.

You folks with antique stores that have pipes should consider yourselves very lucky.

Here in the socialist anti-smoking state of WA one would never find a tobacco pipe. The uber pc nanny hand wringing libs wouldn't approve......

:suspect:

No Cheers,

desertpiper, that Ben Wade is an awesome find! I'm sure with a little effort, you can have it just as shiny as the Ben Wade in the other pic. Everyone enjoys scoring something expensive for cheap, but when the item is briar, it's extra special. Congrats!

Desertpiper shoots, he scores! Great find, brother! Have you smoked her yet?

Not yet, It needs a lot of work before it's ready to smoke. I'm thinking of sending it to someone for restoration. Any ideas on who I could send it too?
