Yeah, fedex delivered a package today and of course it got stolen. I'm actually more pissed at fedex than the thieves. Both our UPS and USPS delivery people NEVER leave a package on the front steps without hiding it some how. If the package is too large to hide they always stick a tag on our door to pick it up at the facility. We've even had stuff left at our back door, which means the guy had to cut through the yard of a neighbor two doors down, then jump a chain-link fence into our yard to leave package. That's how sketchy our neighborhood is. so what the fedex guy was thinking, leaving the package in plain view during xmas of all times is beyond me.

So, I'm going to be home all next week but my wife will have the car so, anyone have an idea how to mess with some package thieves? I'm thinking put some fireworks in a box with a remote to set them off. :)

Oh yeah, that is a good idea, oooo, i could put the kitty litter in there.

I hope it wasn't a B.O.B. SS 2010 package! :affraid:
You will file a claim of course????
My Wife ordered me a watch for Xmas, about ten years ago, and the UPS driver threw it into the bushes and it was covered with snow. Well, when the package didn't show, she filed a claim she got a replacement watch just in time to put under the tree. Fast forward to March. I'm doing the Spring cleanup yardwork, and I find the box in the bushes. I open it and find the missing watch inside. It was working perfectly due to the packaging. The watch was then given to my Wife's Brother because he liked the watch.

Way back when,,,, new york city had a garbage strike at christmas,,,,the trash was piled high on the street. Some people wrapped their garbage in christmas paper with bows and left the packages on doorsteps,,,,merry christmas,,, :affraid:

This would be really stinky.. Catch a few mice from a mouse trap and save them in an old Tupperware in a cold place till your ready to use them.. Take an old thermos and find a good spring to put in it one that would make you have to push down on the top of the thermos to close the top.. Now take your mice out of the container and put them in the thermos stuffing them inside the spring. Now when you have to urinate fill the thermos and close tight. Let it set in a warm place for about a week.. Put the thermos inside a package for your doorstep.. The thief will get a nice surprise.. Plus I am sure have to take a bath after he gets done puking his kidneys out.. Just saying.. :clown:

Considering xmas is just a week away I don't think I have that kind of time BUT i did think of another idea stemming from the kitty litter. You know how if you drop a mentos into a bottle of diet coke it cause all the CO2 to release all at the same time. I should stick a mentos under the cap. nick the bottle with a knife. Fill box with kitty litter and put the bottle in there. They pick up the package, the bottle falls over so the mentos is in contact with the soda, hopefully the nick compromised the bottle enough and boom. Soda and kitty litter leakage. Hopefully they're in the get away car by the time is goes off. or just skip the mentos part and put and openned bottle in there so it just tips over, as long as the box is sealed enough they should get it into the car before it starts leaking all over the play. Merry Xmas *********s.

That sucks. USPS and UPS do not leave packages at my house unless they fit in the mailbox. Kind of a pain but at least I don't have to worry about this sort of thing. The one time I had a fedex package they delivered it next door.

I had a similar situation happen to me not too terribly long ago, a kindly gentleman from this very board gifted me some pipes and the mail carrier apparently left the box by my door. I live in an apartment building with outside entrances, people walk by my door everyday to get to the stairs. Needless to say, the package went missing.

Oh, forgot to add, keep an eye out on Craigslist for the items that were in the package. This is typically how these jamokes get rid of it. I actually know a guy from PA who had a USPS package stolen off his front steps, and managed to figure out who had taken it that way. He put together a little package of evidence and passed it along to the local PD and the FBI. His house was raided with a warrant, and they found the items as well as the original packaging with my friend's name on it. Did not end well for the thief.

Sorry to hear your package got nicked. People are really jerks some times.

I greatly favor the Sharia solution to dealing with thieves. Works spectacularly well in those countries which practice it.
