I was gifted a Cristiano in 1999 by a long gone G.F. A superbly rusticated, (much like dutch's pictured above), bent dublin for lack of a better description with a gold ring at the tenon and an acrylic stem, the price tag said $470. I didn't think it was ever gonna break in and I almost got rid of it a couple of times. It wasn't until someone gave me an unknown tobacco that I didn't want to put into my regular smokers that this thing came to life... and man did it. Now one of my best smokers and probably the most expensive I'll ever own. Gotta find more GF's with disposable income for my hobby.

Mystery tobacco as near as I could figure was Bow Legged Bear.

I wouldn't hesitate at $100 to $150 for anything with his name on it. I also read someplace that pipes are still being carved by one of his associates with the Cristiano name on it... ? Is that Paul's son?

Not to my knowledge. Dan bought a lot of stock, already made pipes and pipe making equipment, but I don't think he bought the name or the trademark. His own pipes under the Spaniola and Cuyuga brands. He does have a lot of Cristiano pipes in stock, as well as Calabresi.

The only other Cristiano that I know of still making pipes is Tom's brother Renato who makes some of the high grade Kaywoodie Hand made pipes for S. M. Frank Co. In Peekskill New York. He is a master pipe maker as was Tom.

I have a lovely Cristiano ladle that I bought from Doc Watson at the NY/NJ Pipe Show. It even came with a shot of Laphroiag scotch... something internet sales still don't offer!

In the Calabresi line there is the Budget line, the Algerian Imports, Italian Imports, Spindrift, Danesi Series, Massicia Series, Metamorfosi Series, Raffaele Series, Free Forms, Cesare Series, and Fancy.
My Calabresi was the first pipe that I bought that wasn't among the no-names tossed in a basket. It's still the best-smoking pipe that I own.

Glad you still enjoy that pipe DocM. Hopefully we can meet up again at that show which is only being held once a year in March. I'll make sure to have an ample supply of pipes and some good single malt for the brothers. And I also still have several other fine Cristiano Signatures that are for sale! some estate and unsmoked pieces.
