Seems not many members are interested in custom made knives so this will be the last knife I post.
The blade was made from a 1095/15n20 Damascus billet. The handle scales are Desert Ironwood, which is more difficult to work with than most wood. Had to wear a special cartridge mask and full goggles while sanding. The handles are epoxied and I used 3 mosaic pins, 2 is difficult enough to line up properly, but 3 looks nicer even though it was time consuming. There is 8 coats of Tung oil and hand buffed after 14 days of curing. The blade is sharp enough to shave with and does look better in hand.

Ted that blade is a work of art and its a shame and a sin that you no longer will be posting your craft... :(

Dude you got to post man I'm interested in just can't afford. Kinda hard for me but I love to see your craft

Oh i dont think yotie intends to sell them, just show the product of doing something that he loves.  Its that love dedication and attention to detail that make these blades AMAZING!  I do ask Ted please continue to post your craft as they are one in a millon.

Yuppers, that Iron wood is tough stuff to work, but it sure buffs out nice! Beauty work though!

OW, I really appreciate your comment. Especially after seeing your fabulous skills with wood, simply amazing

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

Lonecoyote,
The only reason you should stop posting pictures of your knives, is to stop making me jealous because I don't have one.
Seriously, Do NOT stop posting. They are a joy to see on the forum, and it's always fun to see another Brother's AMAZING work!!!
So don't even think about it.
Zach

Now that that's outta the way,
That knife is Gorgeous!!!!! Can't wait till you post the sheath that goes with it!
Zach

I really appreciate all of you that took a minute to post a comment. This post had 145 views and only 8 comments, including mine. I've been posting some different knives I've made in the past for those few that are most likely into knives.
PS
Actually I just looked and counted, only 4 viewers posted a comment out of 145 hits, that's a poor ratio...lol

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

now that is a item of total beauty the Damascus swirls alone are enough for me but the full package wow, simply wow.

Now that's a knife! 8)

Maybe we're just in awe of your fine craftsmanship? Or perhaps it's just the holidays, or both? :santa:

Excellent work, btw.

Don't let that stop ya from posting. There are hundreds of threads on the forum or near that and all of us don't see them till sometimes much later than it's posting, some never at all. And many will look and not say a thing while liking them just the same. I've posted many times here and only gotten a few responses at times, granted my first thought is that they didn't like what I had to show. But, ya know what, It don't matter unless you're trying to sell them and then concerning your wares (knives) it takes a certain person that collects those and the style you make. I like knives, pocket and large ones but, to me it's a luxury I can't afford and I'm sure others here are in the same boat. I've seen some of the knives you made and thought they were real nice and crafted well, so I'm also guilty of never posting to say so. I'd be thankful you don't get a guy that says, Ah Gee, "those are fricken ugly", I did when just posting some of my pipe collection. Being honest is one thing but, when it comes to someone posting something they obviously cherish and wish to share it with others the rule "If ya aint got nothin good to say, don't say anything at all" I think is proper thing to do here. Even if they ask for critique one has got to be proper and leave the abusive words at the curb.
Well, it seems I've gotten into a bit of a rant and excuse me, just wanted to make sure you understood my meaning here.
Nice Knife BTW, Damascus has always been a favorite of mine. ;)

Oh! and just for the record. You've never replied to any of my pipe postings, does that mean you thought they were junk or didn't like them? You can be honest here cause we all can't please everybody all the time. If I can please just one person a month, I'm happy. ;)

That is a very impressive blade. I keep thinking I need to find a nice damascus skinner. Had a buddy who was a master knife maker, Jim Porter, didn't think to have him make me a blade and he died before I could. You buy your billets or make your own?

FWIW, I pretty much never post in knife threads as I've not (yet) ever considered myself much of a "knife guy." But as a thread lurker, I love seeing your work and, even if the product isn't in my wheelhouse, completely appreciate and enjoy the craftsmanship!

My apologies for my ignorance and poor memory. That's my excuse am I sticking to it. That and for being an all around ass hat at times. :fpalm:

How did I miss these knife pictures?! WOW! That is one sick blade and after working at a knife store for 4 years, I sure do appreciate the tight pattern on that damascus. I wish I could learn how to make stuff like this!

Thanks Kate, I have a few different knives I've made in the past posted. Also a few folders that I customized. I have more but not many showed interest in knives.

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

I'm sorry I missed the ones you posted Ted. Your work is really nice. I dig a well made blade and there's nothing like seeing others work and mods to inspire one to try new things. I love, love, love Damascus blades.

Jim

Thanks Jim, your comment is well appreciated. If you have some of your work please share....looking forward too also seeing other custom knife makers designs.
