Gas station shock! Regular unleaded, $3.59 gallon. Filled my tank, which still wasn't on empty= $57.45.
Is a motor scooter in my future?

Had to run a few errands. Drove by On-Cue where wife got gas, price had dropped $.06 per gallon!!!!! Drove to Costco; filled up for $2.89!!! I'll enjoy it while I may!!!!!!! FTRPLT

Stopped in at Erik's Bikes, just to look at electric bikes. Sales guy says business is crazy busy for this time of year. He says people are looking for e-bikes that'll do 28 mph; max in St. Paul-Minneapolis and light enough so they can bring them into their offices. Last week a major e-bike retailer in St. Paul was wiped clean (stolen) by what appeared to be a professional theft crew.

I really would like to buy an electric bike, but the chance of it being stolen is just too great, even if you're riding it.

The price of gas doesn't have a lot to do with inflation. A little, but not that much. Russia is the 3rd highest oil producer in the world. There's one present issue. And if sanctions go into action, that will be a prime mover into even higher gasoline prices. OPEC has been screwing with barrel prices for a while now. There's another present issue. Then you have the basic supply/demand issue nearly every industry is having right now.

Interesting analysis I saw on one of the business shows. The near future is fully electric cars. By 2025 it's projected that almost half of new cars built will be electric. If a major portion of your economy is based on oil/gas and within a decade the demand for your resource is potentially plunging, you're going to inflate the prices while there is still demand.

They also never talk about the batteries. How to dispose of them and the waste/toxicity. Replacement cost. Life expectancy. That's not to be misunderstood that I have anything other than optimism and enthusiasm moving away from gasoline. These are issues that need to be discussed and exposed. That's all. I want the entire picture, not just infomercials for giant corporations and Wall St. It's funny how when they talk about the world, it is all doom and gloom, while when talking about products, it's all rosy and grand. Also not to be misunderstood as being anti-journalism or Mr.Cynic News. When I used to be heavy into hi-fi gear, there were certain publications that were to be avoided, because everything they reviewed was positive positive positive, as they didn't want to bite the hands that were buying their advertising space. Useless to the discerning buyer. So you had to seek out publications that were willing to be brutally honest and harsh when necessary.

As far as charging stations, that's all about infrastructure. We can't stick our heads in the sand and pretend it isn't going to happen. Better sooner than later to get building these stations. If for no other reason than to create jobs and to not fall into second world status, like we are with microchips and certain metals. It's GOING TO happen, so let's get in the game.

A friend has an electric car (I think it's a Volt?) and uses it only to drive to work and back. He charges it in his garage.
