Hi guys

Can any South African members or others that know or have been to our part oF the planet , recommend and let's see what you are smoking here

I have tried most the MacBarens. Nineteeno four and borkinriff. But the are chemical
Either burn my mouth or the chemicals used burn my mouth and nose

I have for now standardized on rum and maple as well as
The occasional jock. Need something as smooth but with a bit if spice

MacBarens Scottish blend comes close but the burn is not worth it.

Not sure where you are in South Africa. But Johan used to recommend a very strong local blend from near Cape Town. Something he called Donkey **** if I remember correctly. Mostly Virginia and burley, with a bit of Latakia. I tried it when he came to Chicago. It was a decent smoke. Not flavored with any kind of topping or sauce. You might ask the local shops about English style blends.

Gordon, Charl Goussard is a pipe maker from Cape Town. Check the Town Crier and ask him. Also, Muddler is a BoBer from the Pretoria area. One of them should be able to help you. They mentioned some blends from Sturks in Cape Town, don't recall which.
