Its an old shooters thing. Right eye or left eye dominate. Close the left eye and they spin one way close the other and they spin the other way. Look from side to side and they change direction.
 
Whoa! The middle one seems to spin clockwise and counterclockwise randomly. Weird...

That's the whole point. The left one rotates clockwise (because of the color and depth designations), the right one counterclockwise, and the center one will vary. If you look at one of the outer colored images for a bit and then to the center, the center one will appear to rotate the same way.
 
I think you guys are missing the point. You have three very attractive figures spinning before your eyes. What more do you need to know? :twisted:
