This art-deco inspired Weber belongs to forum member "Dutch". I've not yet held one of these, so this was a treat. I did a write-up on the Reborn Pipes blog:

Sweet look'en pipe sir, I have a smooth finish one and have never seen one rusticated, I like it. ;)

Another fantastic restoration Al! Can't wait to smoke a bowl out of that vintage piece!

Thanks guys.  I added a couple of catalog page to the article, including this one which describes the "bone" filter.  That explains why I couldn't "clean" it!

I'm sure my now long gone Uncle had one of these when I was a kid. I sometimes wonder what happened to his impressive pipe collection.

Very cool pipe and really great job Al!

I think I've got a non-briar version of that shape. I'll have to see if I can dig it up.

Edit: I found it. It's made of something probably similar to the MM Hardwood pipes, but it's a Streamliner. It's been smoked and the stem is a bit oxidized, but it's in good shape. Anyone want it?

Hey Al, how old is that catalog? Those prices are amazingly inexpensive!!

Nice job on the resto btw!

Those catalog pages were from the early 40's.
$1 then is equal to about $14 now, adjusted for inflation.

Steve Laug encouraged me to trim the tenon a bit (and Dutch OK'd the work). The stem fitment is a now a bit more snug, but I don't think it ever fit very precisely. She's ready to mail back to Dutch!

Cool pipe, it reminds me of an Aristocob I picked up awhile back.
