I ordered from West Coast yesterday. Great site/selection. I did order the Gillette Silver Blues ,which I have never tried, some Feathers, which I have used for years ,just in case I don't like the Blues and soap.

Well, I have now received 2 shipments from West Coast and a 3rd is on the way. Dang, y'all are costing me money! Actually, I was getting low on a lot of things and I ordered my first ever synthetic brush which I am impressed with especially considering the price. Also, I received the G. Blues yesterday and I like them!

May I suggest you take a look at the Astra Superior Platinum (Green) Double Edge (DE) Blades

The Razor Emporium has an extensive selection of blades and rates the sharpness of the blades.
I use the Astra Green and find them after decades of double edged shaving to be perfect for my needs.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone would buy anything but a synthetic brush at this point. The technology has really been pushed in recent years. There are several knots as options now, and they are hassle free. They hold soap better because they don't absorb any product. Whatever soap you load, you get. They're soft to stiff. They're inexpensive. The handle selection without going hand-turned is crazy. The only thing synthetics lack is the romance of boar or badger. Old synthetics sucked, but the new ones are exceptional.

I purchased this brush at Trumper's close to 35-40 years ago.
Granted I had a beard through various periods of my life, but the brush is still in use.

I believe the sales staff told me their brushes were made by Simpson of England.
The handle = 2 1/4 inches in height
The overall = 4 1/2 inches in height

I love some of the Simpson handles. Very comfortable, and I have noticed a significant difference in how comfortable brush handles can be. It doesn't seem like it would be a big deal, but it surprised me, especially when building lather on the face.

I will say that you need to do a little research before settling on a synthetic knot. There are several different ones now. There's one based on the Plisson design. Then one is called the tuxedo because it is black with white tips. and on and on. Backbone and softness are the two biggest differences. Here's a good article to check out:
