I'm picky when it comes to music; but that recommend above for "Lake Street Dive" is one of the best I've come across in some time; syncopated, minor that swings. RP is awesome; I'm a sucker for altos.

I'm glad you like them, 'Fredo. I first heard them a few weeks ago on NPR's Acoustic Cafe while listening in my car. They played their cover of The Jackson Five's "I want you back", which is a song I've always hated. For them to take such a sappy song and turn it into something I really enjoy without irony, well that got me to sit up and take notice. I haven't heard the Price/Fitzgerald video you mentioned, but I'm looking it up right now.

Saw Wayne Shorter last year with Brian Blade on Drums, John Patitucci on bass but I forget the pianist. Killer performance, once of the best jazz shows I have seen. Wayne leaned against the piano all night, stepping up to the microphone only for verses and solos.
