I’ve tried to read The Shining a couple times. The way he describes everything in the book gets my imagination running wild and creeps me out and I have to put it down.
Yes, The Shining is one of the creepier ones. I saw the movie back when it came out and have it on DVD. Nickelson is fantastic in it. But the book is definitely creepier. Including and especially the hedge animals!

Cheers,

RR
I never made it as far as the hedge animals. :lol!:

Masterful tale well told. King has quite the imagination and a knack for storytelling. One small criticism is that the conclusion seemed a bit anticlimactic.

Wow, just Wow!

I didn't realize this was the follow up novel to The Shining which is one of my favorite King novels. In fact I had just finished re-reading The Shining when this came it at the library. I requested it just on the basis of King alone and didn't know what the subject was until I started it.

Gotta say it started slow and didn't make much sense until a certain point, but then I was hooked and found it hard to put down. A real well crafted tale!

Every Tool's a Hammer Life Is What You Make It by Adam Savage.

About a quarter of the way in. Much better than I expected so far.

The Tale of William Quinn by Ozark Wizard. I’m only a few chapters in and it’s already shaping up to be a jolly fine read. Highly recommended <img class="emojione" alt="?" title="" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/png/1f44d.png?v=2.2.7"/><img class="emojione" alt="?" title="" src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/png/1f60a.png?v=2.2.7"/>

This was a struggle to finish. I like a good fantasy but this became downright silly and started wandering. Almost gave up on it several times. Not of of King's best works.

Read this after I saw the movie way back when so had to revisit. The movie is intense. The book equally so.

Cheers,

RR
I whole heartedly agree. That book is intense. Although I haven’t finished it. Do plan on picking it back up. I did like the book so far.

True story of the Manson murders by the prosecuting atty Vincent Bugliosi. Chilling!

Cheers,

RR
I bought this book at a friends of the library sale a couple weeks ago. I gave a whole $.25 for it. I haven’t read it. But she said it was good. And she learned some stuff about the Mansons she didn’t know.
