Opened a tin of '06 Escudo and had it in my Jesse Jones blasted apple w/bamboo. It was at the expected hydration level and burned great. Problem was it didn't have much flavor. But there again I'm having the same issue with other blends. Might be in one of my occasional funks. Food tastes OK though.

Perhaps it's best to stop for a while and let my palate recover....

Cheers,

RR

...earlier...Lane Bright Virginia...then, SWRA...now, G&H Revor Plug(rubbed) in a '82 gp.4 Dunhill Cumberland Brandy...Last of the coffee..

Just finished smoking Watch City Stubb’s Pipe in a light brown 1979 rusticated medium bend Italian Sir Jeffrey Dublin sitter with a flared top and yellow saddle stem.

Now smoking year 2015 HU Directors Cut in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad.

Still puffing away on a tin of Wessex Brown Virginia Flake, mostly in cobs.

MacBaren London Burley Blend in a Dr. Grabow Viscount wire brushed finish billiard with the stinger chopped. I didn't chop the stinger, but the pipe virtually smokes itself. It came from a working man's drawer caked with an eighth inch of grime on the outside of the bowl and was one of my first cleanup jobs. It puts me in the zone everytime. I saw the LBL about 8 months ago at the local B&M and didn't get it. Thought about it just about everyday since and today it was waiting for me there with some McClelland's Town Topic.

One of those pipe days that lets you know they'll have to pry my bowl from my cold dead hands.

After the bowl I had a couple of sniffs of 666 mixed with Fubar Grunt as a refresher.

Listening to Levon Helm following a spaghetti dinner.

God loves us.

Relaxing after a late, but wonderful porterhouse steak and mashed potatoes dinner with a bowl of year 2013 Rotary Navy Cut in a post WW2 Pre-Republic Peterson Dublin straight smooth X155 Bulldog with a sterling silver band and a black vulcanite p-lip stem. Going to work soon.

Now smoking Dunhill Elizabethan Match in a 1982 smooth straight Dunhill Root Briar 31051 Dublin with a black vulcanite tapered stem. Taking a short break.

A couple minutes or so away from smoking year 1999 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed in a 2015 Basil Meadows black sandblasted billiard with an aluminum band and a pearl red acrylic tapered stem.

Work's done for the day, I snacked on a salad and a big golden delicious apple, and am now smoking GLP Cumberland in a 2018 smooth straight flame grain Basil Meadows Merchant Service "Bing" replica with an aluminum band and black ebonite stem. Watching The Hellfighters starring John Wayne and Jim Hutton.
