Back from the car show. My baby brother took 4th for classic hardtop 60-69. Very happy for him!
Gonna have some Byzantium in my neglected figure Meer with a Local Belgian Ale (1919 from Little Brown Jug Brewery).

You could always get a nice Vulcanite stem for that.
Hate vulcanite stems. I tolerate them on old English pipes because I love their aesthetic, but I am at an absolute loss as to why someone would actually want a stem that requires near constant maintenance to keep from turning green and smelling foul.

The mouthfeel argument carries no weight with me. I use softy bits on all my pipes whether acrylic or vulcanite because I am a clencher and prefer how they feel to a naked stem. When they get old I toss them out and replace them. Cost 25 cents — and my stems stay free of tooth marks.

I’m sure I just kicked a hornet’s nest 😔

Back from the pool tourney. My partner and I brought the trophy home to our post. 5 straight games undefeated. Double elimination. You guys must have brought me good luck. Made several really tricky shots. Now having 2017 Frog Morton in a Pete Rosslare smooth bent apple with orange spice tea.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, snapper and snow peas dinner with strawberries for dessert. I'm almost half way through this bowl of Seattle Pipe Club Down Yonder in a straight black 1963 Dunhill LBS Shell 4S billiard with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. Sam the Scamp is outside for the second time today.

Passing the half way mark of this bowl of 2019 C&D Yorktown in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Terracotta 4AB No.108/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Watching a Gene Autry movie.

Did a little low calorie snacking, and am half way through this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a 2018 full bend smooth Terracotta Peterson XL315 System Standard military mount with a nickel cap and a flared black vulcanite p-lip stem.

Sam the Scamp was outside three times today, and twice around the house. The babies are getting a little bigger, and four of the five now have their eyes open. The dark one with the bobtail liked having its chin rubbed, and gave me a love bite along with a few kitty kisses. So far, it seems to be the most independent one of the bunch. The orange ones mostly stay huddled together. The other dark one is often at the bottom of the pile. It’s no wonder that Sam needs an occasional break.

I’m very certain that Harry the Hairy fathered the two darker kittens. I finally saw the orange tabby who likely fathered the other three, and I managed to get a couple photos of it eating from behind the glass door. I’ve wondered whether or not Sam goes looking for one or the other of them when she’s outside.

Tomato the Brave was absent until late this evening. I wonder where he goes? Daisy stayed inside all day, and looking beautiful while she was lazy. Abner the Eager has been in and out all day, but he’s snoozing now.

Hectic evening, not ten minutes after I posted I had to go to my mother's. She's been ill, likely with a form of COVID and it ground her down this afternoon. I bundled her off to the hospital where she's under observation. I'll know more tomorrow. Had some Oriental Silk in my Brigham when I got home and made supper, my plans with the meer were preempted. I'll know more tomorrow. Goodnight BoBs. Grats Ranger.

Last smoke of the day is year 2010 Mac Baren Burley London Blend in a three quarter bend 1983 Jobey Danski 2 straight grain freehand rough top sitter with a pearl amber acrylic stem. All the ferals and my cats are settled, and I'm reading while this bowl lasts.

Best wishes to you and your mother.

GREEK INDEPENDENCE WAR 1821-2024 Anniversary

As today at 25 March 1821 the Orthodox Greeks officially started the revolution against the ottoman empire fighting the muslim turks and their allies (from albania, bosnia, tunisia, egypt, croatia, algeria etc) to end an almost 400 year old tyranny.
Their motto was "Freedom of Death" and in few areas that the turks never manage to invade was "Victory or Death".

May 20, 1825 Maniaki of Messinia, around 500 Greeks not well barricaded in positions faced 3000 Ottomans (turkish-egyptians). The reinforcements expected by Papaflessas (a Archimandrite) never arrived and so he faced the enemy alone. Every Greek knew they were going to die but fought to send the message to the Ottomans that they preferred Death to slavery. The film did not have the effects of Hollywood (the cavalry attacks were more numerous, the cannonade more intense, 3 of Greeks saved and took our flag so the muslims won't disgrace it etc.) but you can get an idea. Please take 10 minutes of your time to see how we fought for our Freedom back then.

I am smoking Skandinavik Sungold and at dinner i will raise a glass of red wine to the memory of the fallen fellow countrymen in the battlefield, those which tortured till death in prisons and the civilians who were massacred.

Good morning,
Smoking a Pete Baker Street, MB Symphony,Mug of Peet`s dark roast coffee,It`s a sunny but chilly 36 degrees here. They are predicting heavy rain for the rest of the week. It`s very frustrating because I am so far behind in my spring clean-up outside. I really hate it when my property looks neglected !
