Superb morning with a bowl of the original Van Rossem's Troost Slices in my old MM Rob Roy diamond-shanked, slightly bent billiard. The pipe was owned by the late FishNBanjo. FTRPLT
Way to go buddyMy most sacred pipe is an old Kaywoodie Standard 145 that my Uncle Dana smoked. He beat that pipe on the heel of his shoe after every smoke. The crown of the bowl looked like it was a freehand when I inherited it. Lol. Over the years I sanded the top which took about 1/6” off. It still smokes Carter Hall like one of my Castello’s.
When I first started smoking it, I noticed it, but I haven't been hit with any sort of a buzz for years. I think I remember it giving me the jitters the first few times. It's one of my regular smokes. I'm probably not the best to say. It's a pretty stout blend, though.I've got some unopened Night Train. What'd you think of the nic on it?
Hey Jim,Just finished smoking year 2012 Rolando’s Own in a smooth straight early ‘60s Lane era “William Conrad” Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem.

My guess is that it was a design created to get rid of sand pits so they wouldn't have to throw an otherwise good block of briar away.Hey Jim,
What are the diagonal channels for?
I bet your be peeking out of that window every few seconds, and running to the door at every noise in anticipationGood morning,
Smoking a De Paja bent brandy with Lane RLP-6 and a freshly perked mug of Colombian peaks coffee. I received an e-mail from USPS that my new Peterson Watson will be arriving today.
