See.i knew it you da man
I can’t get the ghost out of my Yello-Bole billiard either. It’s ruined three bowls of good leaf already! At least mine is a cheap estate find that I refurbished. I thought it was Peretti Burley DD, but I’m starting to think it was an English blend...965?

Screw the pipe quest for this morning. Needed "comfort" pipe and baccy, so it's CH in a MM cob. On my 3rd mug of coffee, lol.
I’m glad to see I’m not the only one who smokes a pipe for comfort. I swear it’s the only thing that brings me peace sometimes.

Enjoying a very nice evening at my local village pub with the Missus, a pint of ice cold larger, and my Henry Tongue plugged with St. Bruno.
Zippo, I’ve got to find my Mason jar of St. Bruno now. You’ve mentioned it a couple of time lately and now I want to enjoy the flowers. Lol. Nice SAS tattoo. An old city official here in Virginia Beach was one of the U.S. Army Pathfinder’s who jumped into Normandy with the SAS before the invasion. He was given a Jedburgh SF wing by the SAS. The U.S. Army strictly prohibited sewing it on the uniform sleeve , but many guys wore it anyway.

82° and breezy. Beautiful day. Italian volcano poker derivative with new Luxury Navy Flake. I'm still getting Bengal Slices ghosting from weeks ago and post running water scrub. 7/10.

I had a BBB billiard years ago. The thing was a leper. In my trading circles, BBBs weren't worth much more than $15. It bounced around, hand to hand, and eventually someone threw it in on a trade with me because they didn't want it cluttering up their trade box any longer. It was sort of a nuisance to everyone. I still consider it the quintessential large billiard. I've seen some "perfect" Dunhill LBs and owned a couple. Seen some stunning Ashton billiards. etc etc etc. As most of have, I've had many billiards. This BBB remains the paradigm for me. It was perfect. I wish I still had it. One of the many guys who owned it melted a brass BBB badge into the stem. It was very well done, looking like it came from the factory like that. One of those purges that I regret.

I have many SF badges I shared from you guys, and others from other countries. But my favourites are swapping Zippo' from your Seals, Rangers, and Green berets.

Ranger,
Sorry to hear about the calamity with the water supply line. I think we have all been in similar situations. Sounds like you took care of it quickly. How’d your dog fair in all the water? You deserve a good bowl of leaf after all of that work.
She stayed on the bed till her usual supper time, then started barking, lol.

M'lady outdid herself tonight. She made biscuits from scratch, and I had five ham, egg and cheese biscuits with a small bowl of vanilla bean ice cream sprinkled with sliced almonds for dessert. While I am waiting for the Boston cream pie to cool, I'm half way through this bowl of year 2013 Dunhill Flake in a straight smooth 1960 Dunhill DR 137 group 4 root briar canted dublin with a tapered black vulcanite stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Watching the Braves-Red Sox game.

Hey Everyone,
Today started with Watch City Flake 558 in my Savinelli 320 Mega. Super tobacco as always. The Peter Stokkebye’s Cube Cut arrived and I stuffed it in my Kaywoodie 95B. In my opinion, this is a really underrated codger type blend. I don’t suggest tamping this tobacco with your finger. Jim, I understand your words of caution with the embers...I could see how you could burn your dog/cat. Lol. Finally, I opened a new tin of the Mac Baren Burley London Blend. Wow! You guys who like Carter Hall will absolutely love this blend! Remember the old Grey Poupon mustard commercial where the rich guy asked for mustard. This is the “Grey Poupon“ of Carter Hall or any of the old codger blends!

Enjoyed a big slice of freshly made Boston cream pie, and smoked a bowl of Wesley’s No.58 Perique Navy Cut in a 2021 medium bend black sandblasted Peterson Newgrange 80S bent bulldog silver spigot with a tapered reddish brown with black stripes acrylic stem.

Just passing the quarter mark on this bowl of year 2016 McClelland Christmas Cheer in a 1980 Stanwell 668 medium bend with a multi-colored ferrule, half black sandblasted, half brown smooth, rough top with a black vulcanite stem. Forgot I had this sample, and I've enough for one more bowl. Haven't smoked this dedicated to red Virginia pipe in a long time, but for about thirty-some years, it was a daily experience.

Been scrubbing and cleaning that meer a bunch today. Not a bit of change. I think the ghost is permanent. Not good news.

Today is a very sad day, i went to feed my red eared turtles and i saw my Packy like this:

fNkgzVA.jpg

At first glance everything looked normal, i tried to feed her (plus the male the Sporilos) but she wouldn't move. This wasn't her behaviour, she was very energetic and standing still is the worst sign.
Her name was ''Packy'' (from the Pac-Man) because was very gluttonous and the latest 10 years was in our house. Was in a big aquarium, fresh water-filter-vitamins-heat lamp-a bridge for standing to dry etc and she was growing with no problems, no sign that was ill or had any issues. And now this? Why? This is not a hibernation, this is sudden Death!
This was her last photo, she looks like is watching me waiting for her morning shrimps. We buried her outside, now Sporilos is alone and makes circles inside the aquarium seeking for his girlfriend.

I tried to smoke Cornell & Diehl Seersucker and drink some coffee but i stopped, no mood.
