Swede, I have deep cellared Peterson’s 3P’s. It’s a top five tobacco for me. Most people get frustrated in preparing the plug, but it’s worth the trouble. I have found the key is to slice it very thin with a razor blade and then roll it between your thumb and index finger. Smooth Va/Bur. Enjoy.

Awesome technical advice . I'd read a bunch of reviews with differing prep for this baccy. Glad to know your experience with it. I get some kind of satisfaction out of cutting off the side of a plug. Must have something to do with my affinity for knives. In this case a good old Swiss Army spear blade. I'll have to get a good razor blade out.

Beautiful 79° and sunny in Virginia. First smoke of the day was Newminster No. 400 and the Peterson Ashford XL90. Nice relaxing smoke with an iced coffee. Second smoke was trusty Lane Limited Ready-Rubbed in the Castello K31 Trademark. A favorite that I have neglected for too long. The third bowl was War Horse Bar in a new Missouri Meerschaum because JimInks said it would ghost pretty much anything. Initial thoughts are...great tobacco. But this has enough nicotine to put you in the fetal position asking for mommy. Very unusual Va/Bur with a light flavor of cinnamon and cloves? Nice change of pace as long as you respect this stuff. They say it’s a plug, but it’s a solid crumble cake. Peterson 3P’s and Dan Salty Dogs is a plug!!!! A Christmas blend that will kick your buttocks.

A good wind down before going uptown in the topless Jeep for some music, vintage cars, and food trucks. I'll probably need another bowl of something after that's over. Should be an almost full moon tonight in a clear sky. I know things can be rough nowadays, but I'm feelin as Charlie Daniels used to say "ain't it good to be alive and be in Tennessee!". I'd add to that with some good baccy and a cob pipe or any pipe...and be a BoB!

Pre dinner, just finished a bowl of SPC Miss River in the Sav Hercules 320XL. Hot English black tea aside. Didn't seem quite as good as in the Design Berlin with filter. Expecting a wonderful dinner of meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

One more pre dinner bowl. Wanted something sweet so it's CS Rivendell in a Dansk Sovereign straight grain volcano sitter. Honey bourbon aside. Just waiting for the meatloaf to come out of the oven, lol.

About a third of the way through this bowl of C&D Wintertime Reserve 2022: Ghost of Christmas Past in a medium bend fumed tan crackled year 2020 Ahmet Govem reverse calabash meerschaum with a military mount silver band and black acrylic stem. Working on a review of this blend.

That is a beautiful pipe. It looks like it is well loved.

I like the variation in the patina. It seems to echo the curl of fingers around the bowl.

Re the tobacco: does C&D cycle through the Wintertime Reserve releases and bring back past blends? There were a few that I missed a couple of years ago.
