Falling in love with one of the most lavish, creamy bowls of C&D Odessa that I have ever had the pleasure to smoke. I've always enjoyed this blend before, however today, sipped in a new Road Town freenhand (Basically an Oom Paul shape) is heavenly. Cowboy coffee (dark roasted and black) with a soft (though cool) breeze on the side. One of those "The stars must be aligned" smokes.

Continued exploration of C&D Pegasus in different pipes. Earlier in a cob with a wide open draw (no filter) the spiciness was too much on the retrohale - almost burned my nose hairs! Just finished a bowl in a 9mm Design Berlin, much smoother. Whether smooth or spicy, I keep coming back to the subtle casing flavor that reminds me of tapioca. I'd almost bet money I'm the only one on the forum that likes or even knows what tapioca is. Anyway, good stuff if sipped and enjoyed in moderation!

Up before dawn again. Breaking in my new Don Carlos with some CH, and dark roast morning coffee. This is a very large pipe. I may dedicate it to burley/ virginia blends. Beautiful sunrise in Prescott this am.

Brun, have you tried Old Joe Krantz? If so how does Pegasus compare? I found OJK a bit too stout for me. Noticed on TR comparisons to OJK and haunted bookshop. Have some HB on the shelf but have not tried it yet.

Brun, have you tried Old Joe Krantz? If so how does Pegasus compare? I found OJK a bit too stout for me. Noticed on TR comparisons to OJK and haunted bookshop. Have some HB on the shelf but have not tried it yet.

Have not tried the original OJK, just the red label version with Latakia. I do like Pegasus better than Haunted Bookshelf, but you're likely to find others on the forum with the opposite opinion. I know DL Ruth likes HB a lot. Fr_Tom has reviewed all three, so maybe he can give you a better idea.

C&D Winchester x 3; stock version this morning, then a tweak suggested by Fr_Tom (2 parts Win, 1 part Kelly's Coin), and then my own tweak adding 16.6% (2/12) Latakia. My initial impression is that Winchester is pleasant but not distinguished by itself, but proves to be a great Va-Bur blending base that can be taken in a variety of more interesting directions for the home blender/tweaker.

Newmister Superior Round Slices in a smooth cob. Found it to be sweet, very mellow and mild. Quite nice for a change of pace. CB coffee on the side.

Orlik Dark Strong Kentucky in the same clay I used earlier today. Cowboy coffee on the side. A lovely tobacco, sweet and smooth as silk in the cold night air. Really been enjoying Kentucky tobacco the past few days.

Paul, I believe you have mentioned the Road Town a couple of times. Are they decent pipes? Have a chance to pick up a brand new unsmoked one off ebay for $36. Private offer from seller. Nice looking bent bulldog. Worth it? Your .02 please. Thanks,
