Paul, may I ask where you acquired your pipes? I saw quite a few on ebay, but don't recall any with horn stems? I am trying to get a few more larger bowled pipes for burley blends. What is the approximate price range for the Vintage series and where can I find them? Thanks,
R107, I'm not Paul; How some ever...Smoking pipes has a huge selection of new Ropps on their site. They also tend to have quite a few on their Monday & Thursday sales offerings, both new and estate!! FWIW, FTRPLT

Just finished a relaxing two bowls...14-year-old Balkan Sasieni in a Pete Rosslare 221 bent; 3-year-old GLP Regent's Flake in an old Pete Mark Twain!! Life is good!!! FTRPLT

They have all come from smokingpipes...been keeping them busy and adding to the economy 🤠. For wider bowl pipes, check out Rossi and also the Tsuge Tasting line of pipes. The Billiard and the Dublin are both deep and wide (average 1.60 x .83). I have two Rossi stout Billards and Dublin with similar bowl sizes.
Thanks,

Ftrplt, sorry about that. Must have fumble fingered on the reply button. Not hard when you have fingers fat as mine. But thanks for the response, will check it out. BTW, what a/c did you fly? I am a pilot also but only fighter I got to fly was the A4 skyhawk from the rear seat, unless you count the F34 Bearcat I got to fly as a guest of the CAF, and the P51 while working for Clay Lacy.

A beautiful bowl of C&D Oak Alley in a Marcus Fohr Black Flowing Fountain Clay. Cowboy Coffee on the side, sipped in the garage as the wind is still going quiet strong out here tonight.

This is a really nice tobacco...very smooth, dark, creamy and layered, Though recommended to age it for 10-15 years, that would be a challenge!

Country Squire Cherokee in a Design Berlin Siegfried. Maybe a notch below Rivendell and Figgy Pudding but still PDG.

You flew a Bearcat and a P-51...I am only a bit envious and jealous!! My prop time is/was limited; tail dragger time=0!! Jet jock all the way!! Military T-37 and T-38; F-4 for 18 eighteen years, F-16 for five years! Civilian typed in DC-9 (all series thru the MD-90 & MD-90-30), Boeing 717/727/737, plus B-727 Flight Engineer. All back in the good ol' days!! FTRPLT

First foray into G.L. Pease Penny Farthing. Tested (and admired) in a Marcus Fohr Black Clay Belge. Lovely tobacco...will enjoy more later today in a briar. As a shag cut, rolled it tightly (two times) into the bowl. Could have nursed an hour out of it, easily. Because of the pack it burned very slow and evenly. A lot of wispy flavors in this one. Hot cup of Cowboy Coffee at my side.

Mac Baren Vintage Syrian in a Jean La Croix Bulldog. Lining up all my special pipes and blends for the next couple days. Saving the Gourd for New Year's of course.

Shared lunch with my Sis (It's her birthday) and father.

Returned home and had a bowl of Stokkebye Cube Cut in a Ropp Etudiant Panel Apple with a shot glass of sipped Jim Beam Honey Whiskey and Hot Cowboy Coffee on the side.

I am just as envious. When I ran maintenance at Offutt I was lucky enough to have close contact with the CAF and EAA, so they frequently offered me rides in the vintage a/c. Came close to a ride in the F16 with the Thunderbirds but some a**hole 3 star showed up at the last minute and aced me out. Got to fly the DC9 and 727 sim when O was with the airlines. Yep, good ole days.

C&D Burley Flake #5 in the Ropp Etudiant paneled Apple from this afternoon. Cowboy Coffee at hand. Nice and cold outside, and this deep, rich Burley hit the sweet spot.

Dang cold outside tonight, 34 at 9pm. Too tired to mess with the patio heater so retired to my new garage smoking area. Hobbits weed in the Road Town rhodesian I picked up for 30 bucks. This is turning into a really good smoker.
