A rich, creamy bowl of C&D Pasha's Dream in a Tsuge Tasting Billiard. A dry 29 degrees F outside right now. Cowboy Coffee kept things warm and toasty.

Back to burley for first pipe of the day. CH in the Butz magnum. Dark roadt coffee. Hmmm, nice. Temp okay, 44, but wind up to 25 and snow expected by 3pm.

Second bowl, sutliff xmas spice in the georg jensen hand carved. Spiced winter blend coffee on the side. Watching the giant ravens playing in the wind. No wings flapping, just soaring like a sailplane.

"Benediction" in a GBD Sovereign. If I had a double stack pipe like Tennessee Dave I'd load it up with this and be done for the afternoon! Can't get enough of it. Those who haven't tried this simple DIY recipe (half Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye Flake and half Wilke High Hat) don't know what yer missin'! No, I'm not "recommending" or "enabling" TAD - just sayin. ;)

First foray with Five Brothers. Reviews indicate a mule kick of Vit N and the taste of mud. Well, in a Marcus Fohr Black Clay Bilge, there was no mud and a very docile mule. This is good stuff! Will explore more with it. Good, dark Burley with body and some muscle. I'm still standing (or sittings as I'm typing at the moment (Hah!). Good, "Real McCoy" tobacco here. Will try some in a cob next time.

Wowza!

First foray with Tabac Manil La Volute (Semois). Savored every wisp, sip, sniff, retro-hale...every flake. basically every moment of this tobacco. Smoked in a Rossi Stout Billiard. Cowboy coffee at hand.

This is the flavor that I've been seeking in a pipe.

Delicious!

Stokkebye LNF in a Road Town dublin. Was going to dedicate this to virginia blends, but that may not work as it smokes a little warm. And yes Bru, you are "enabling". Dang it, one more for the TAD list. Relaxing in the garage while wife fixes supper. Finally got our snow. And a strange sunset.

Tomorrow is my last "official" work day before retirement, for the second time. This evening, I will smoke Kendal Plug in a Radice Rind Billiard; Edward G. Robinson in a Savinelli 802; G.L. Pease Sparkplug in a Savinelli 320 KS Siena. A little Glenlivet on the side.

Enjoyed a lovely bowl of Solani Aged Burley Flake in the Ropp Stout Billiard from earlier this afternoon. This is a long-time favorite with sweet floral overtones tonight. Was tasting some of the delightful leftovers from the Semois earlier today. This added to the pleasure of the Solani. Old faithful Cowboy Coffee in a jumbo mug at my side while the temp was dropping.

GLP Mephisto in a Design Berlin Siegfried. Maybe one bowl left in a jar I've been nursing for several years. Sure glad I didn't pay what current consignment prices are asking. Good and savory, but honestly I'd rate it a point or two below the DIY Benediction I had yesterday.

Between Five Brothers and the Semois, safe to say Paul_of_Burley likes a Burly Burley! Yee-Haw cowboy. :D

2008 Haddo's Delight in a Rad Davis. Great smoking pipe. It was the first one I got from Rad and continues to be my favorite in my collection. BTW I know Haddo's is a very polarizing tobacco but there is something incredibly special that goes on with this tobacco when it gets North of 10 years old.
