Going to start my day with a bowl of Hobbit Weed, in a Petersons Tankard.
A cuppa strong Yorkshire tea on the side, and two of Mrs Z's rock cakes, before lighting up. Ranger Buddy, so glad to see you on the mend mate, but don't over do it. Enjoy the day you deserve my friend.

I have some Kensington out to dry, we'll be out helping a friend move so I'll load that for the ride and take a small container and a fresh pipe for later.

Ranger it's good to read that the shoulder is improving! I don't think using the snowblower is wise just yet but you're probably as foolhardy as me!

Smoking a bowl of Five Brothers in a Group 4 Dunhill billiard. I like the natural burley taste of this tobacco, but can't smoke a lot of it at one time because of the strength.

Mimicking Bali with Kensington in a MM cob. Don't have a Rob Roy, but it works well in the General. With another big mug of coffee. I'm surprised but quite happy that the pain level in my shoulder is so low. Hope that bodes well for a speedy recovery. Can't wait to get back in the saddle. Bali, I wouldn't say we're foolhardy, just stubborn old farts, lol. Driveway is fairly flat. If I can get it started should be able to push it with one hand. Only 4" and powdery..

Starting off my smoking day with a bowl of year 2016 Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 2014 Basil Meadows smooth slight bend squashed tomato with an aluminum band and a black pearl acrylic stem in the military mount style. Ice water and bergs is my drink.

Sounds like a tasty and satisfying mixture! How does that combination mix together? Seems like it would be hard to blend with the shag cut of the KK and the thicker ribbon of the Butternut Burley. Or do you have the larger ribbon version of Kendal Kentucky?

Hey, sorry for the late response.

I have both cuts of Kendall Kentucky, and typically use the ribbon cut for blending and the shag cut for smoking straight.

Depending on the ratio, the shag cut actually blends with ribbon cut okay too if mixed well - Five Brothers is a shag cut that I've also used to up the N content of certain aromatics. But yes, ribbon with ribbon makes more sense overall.

As for flavor, I've found Butternut Burley to be a great sort of "neutral" aromatic to blend with stronger tobaccos for a slightly more mellow smoke. In my experience, goes especially great with both Pirate Kake and Kendall Kentucky. You just want to make sure the Butternut Burley isn't too dried out, otherwise you don't get much flavor and it just dilutes the taste.

Just started smoking a new 1lb bag of Butternut Burley in my Vauen bent pot. Smoked with a cup of black coffee, it acts almost like a coffee creamer.

Sadly this batch I just got from 4noggins is bone dry, and pretty much tastes like unflavored hot air. If this was my first impression, I would think I just didn't like the blend - glad Ive tried it and loved it before.

$46 is a lot of money for what is now 1lb of compost.. but I NEED my Butternut Burley, so I'll probably have to risk ordering it again at some point and hope I get a fresh batch

Enjoyed a tall stack of cinnamon raisin French toast with a navel orange on the side, and a hand full of unsalted peanuts. I'm close to finishing this bowl of year 2020 Watch City Rouxgaroux in a smooth medium bend 2021 Peterson POTY Natural 4AB No. 6/500 military mount with a silver cap and a tapered black vulcanite AB stem. Lavazza Espresso, neat, is my drink.

I did send an email yesterday relaying my experience, but I didn't ask for compensation or a replacement outright - I figured that since there's a strict no return policy on bulk tobacco that I was just out of luck. We'll see what they say when I get a reply.

If it was shipped that dry maybe you should call 4 Noggins and ask them to replace it?

Try to rehydrate it. Put some in a shallow container with a lid, lay a couple of sheets of paper towels moistened with distilled water on top and check on it every few days.

I've been dreaming of owning a brewery

I have fun making wine from sweet juice or cider and I used to brew beer. I found out a year ago (I was adopted at birth) that my mother's maiden name was Brewer, I thought I was just lucky with the tasty results!

Now smoking year 2010 Amphora Original (Brown) in a 1990s slight bend black Sasieni 4 Dot Ruff Root Dark 4 Dublin with a black vulcanite saddle stem.

Going to spend some time reading and smoking Chris Morgan Jackalope in a straight smooth medium brown year 1912 Henry Tongue bulldog with a silver cap and band and an amber saddle stem with an orific bit.

Smoking a quick bowl of Old Joe Krantz in a Vauen quarter bent billiard. I prefer Haunted Bookshop but this is a nice change of pace. Not sure I could enjoy this unfiltered!

A quarter of the way through this bowl of KBV The Jigsaw Plateau in a 1949 medium bend Dunhill Shell 56 billiard with a tapered black vulcanite tapered stem. Double checking my review before I post it. This strong English blend should go on sale soon, but I don't know when.
