An 80 degree day here in Austin means no bundling up for a smoke. Ready to fire up a Randy Wiley Cutty. It’s an estate pipe that I swapped the original stem with white acrylic thinking original clay pipes and sailors of yore. Always have been fascinated with early naval history, pirates, and seafaring adventure novels by Melville, Stevenson, etc. I love the vast array of tobaccos with a naval association. This bowl filled with C&D’s Billy Budd.

Passing the first third of this bowl of Wilke Surbrug’s Crystal Palace in a dark brown smooth straight post-WW2 LHS Certified Purex 79 bulldog with a nickel ferrule and tenon with a black vulcanite saddle stem. This will get me to dinner time.

Productive day today. Just finished getting the solar panels moved and hooked back up to the batteries again.
My son reworked the container layout and we just ate the last of the Shepherds Pie for a snack.
I'm about to try out this BBB pipe with a bowl of 1Q. Done for the day so one of many to come.

Relaxing after a wonderful salad, cod and snow peas dinner with a slice of pecan pie and a scoop of French vanilla ice cream for dessert. I'm near the half way mark of this bowl of year 2012 Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight, dark brown early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort saddle stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Community Coffee, neat, is my drink. I was going to clean a few pipes, but Tomato the Brave has taken up the left side of my chair with a snorin' snooze. Sleepy Suzy is with m'lady. Molly Danger is snoozin' in the bedroom. Abner the Eager is snoozin' in front of the television. The others are outside.

Enjoyed a tasty golden delicious apple, and am smoking well aged Rattrays Hal O’ The Wynd in a straight smooth brown pre-WWII (Comoy’s) Corinthian De-Luxe 126 pot made for Sutliff in San Francisco with a black tapered vulcanite stem. Haven't smoked the pipe or blend in a while, so it was time to do so. Daisy the Feral Princess was banging at the door for food, and after she ate, she went to snooze on her blanket. Tomato the Brave finally left my chair, and is snoozin' by my feet, so I was able to get those pipes cleaned.

Now smoking year 2010 Mac Baren Burley London Blend in a smooth medium bend 2011 Rinaldo Collection Fiammata Silver Line 7 Odea 04 flame grain bulldog with a silver band and a tortoise shell acrylic saddle stem. Ice water and bergs is my drink. Enjoying quiet reading time.

Half way through this bowl of year 2014 Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a very much appreciated 1979 brown, slight bend grain etched flat front Stanwell Rego 969-48 (09) with a black vulcanite saddle stem. Fed all the ferals, and only Abner the Eager is inside. Watching Bob Costas interview Pedro Martinez in 2011.

Almost a third of the way through this bowl of year 2013 Capstan Blue Flake in a straight 1924 Dunhill’s “Shell Briar” patent pot 7 with a tapered black vulcanite stem. I'll probably end the day with this smoke. Daisy the Feral Princess was banging at the back door, and when I went to let her in, Tomato the Brave pushed her aside, and ran in. She quickly followed as the cold rain has come back. Everybody's snoozin' including Sleepy Suzy, who is by my side. Reading while this bowl lasts.

Good morning, BoB. Velvet in the Re-Gent to accompany coffee this morning. Drove my baby sister to work today. She was stuck yesterday in the snow and a "good Samaritan" manged to blow her engine trying to drive it out. Lesson learned: never let a stranger behind the wheel of your car. It's been a hard year for her. I'll be up golf-course early for a while until she can replace the car. She's a savvy consumer, it won't take her long.
