The summer heat has been too much for me and my pipes.  Triple digit temperatures have kept me off the porch but tonight I just had to make an exception.  Feet in a tub of cool water, Maker's 46 on the rocks and a bowl of rubbed Bob's Chocolate Flake in a vintage MM Churchwarden makes me wonder how I've missed the last few evenings.  I have to admit I have a slight buzz at the moment (good Whiskey does that) but the combination has really put me into the best of moods.  I love a good pipe... add a great libation and the night makes for most wonderful experience. :)

Sweet dreams ahead!

Third bowl of the day, this one's some Virginia Woods in a Sav Guibleo-de-Oro 121 pot I got in the mid 80's. My first "good" Sav and one of my BEST smokers ( and it's not a bad looking pipe either, flame grain ALL around the bowl )

Dunhill Elizabethan in a 2001 black sandblasted three quarter bend Rinaldo Lithos YY bulldog with an amber colored stem. This is the new version that just came out. Tastes very similar to the Murray's version, but maybe a little less potent.

I thought the new Dunhill Elizabethan was lighter in strength and a finer ribbon cut than the original. It burned much faster than the Murray's version. I've just lit up a bowl of the Altadis DE Match that I got from P&C, which is a little thicker in cut and shorter, too, and it has more of a perique taste, too, than the new version.

Just lit up a bowl of sweet for the early afternoon, some McC's FM 2000 in a BBB Virgin sq. shanked pot. This one's my first BBB I bought when I got back from 'Nam and started my pipe smoking journey. It's been a steady friend all these years and just LOOOOOOVES Red Va flakes

(more) Fox's Provost in an old Parker straight billiard.

Scotland have just scored against England in the 'friendly' international at Wembley. Should make for an interesting match....
