This tin I just opened was born on this day 40 years ago. It's an original from Scotland:

Charles Rattray Hal O’ The Wynd

I'm savoring the moment, the smell of this blend is outstanding!! This is back when Rattray's blends were 4 oz. tins/cans.

Pipe of choice : Ardor Urano Zulu Fatta A Mano

My simple anytime blend when aged for a minimum of 1 year happens too also be one of my top 10 favorites:

C&D Bayou Night 60% and Lane Burley & Black 40% aged just over 1 year. I smoke this like a FREIGHT TRAIN and absolutely NO bite. I pack the pipe firm 3/4 of the way and get close to a 60 minute very enjoyable smoke.

Pipe of choice: Savinelli Series III UNFINISHED BILLIARD pipe. Has 11 huge fills but it's a superb smoking pipe. I did finish the briar with Bee's wax and mineral oil mixture. I've smoked this pipe over 400 times and the briar now developed a dark chocolate color. But the fills still stand out.
When this pipe first arrived from an online well known retailer the stem had no hole drilled. How did this pipe pass thru quality control at Savinelli???

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

Just finished smoking Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in the second pipe I ever bought, a 1974 three quarter bend black groove carved Dr. Grabow Omega with a black vulcanite stem.

Granger in a tan etched medium bend 2001 Rinaldo Sahara 2 Acorn round at the shank, pointy at the opposite top with a black acrylic stem.

Edward G Robinson blend in a restored Olde London Bing Billiard smooth briar pipe with a silver band.

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

Jim's Va/Bur in a 2015 Basil Meadows Bing Crosby Merchant Service replica with a smooth straight thin shank, aluminum band and black ebonite stem.

Black Frigate well rubbed and rested for over an hour.

Pipe of choice: O'Donnell Algerian Briar partially rusticated custom made nosewarmer poker pipe with an orange/black Cumberland stem. This pipe is dedicated to this fine tobacco.

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

SPC Plum Pudding in my smooth T. Cristiano Billiard Bowl Bosso pipe with a square shank and some nice inlay work in the stem. Well balanced pipe for clenching. Another of my great buys from eBay a few years ago at $40.00. It's now for sale from another seller for $100.00.

KEEP ON PUFFING!!!

Now smoking Dunbar in a smooth straight Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Have enough left for one more bowl. A bottle of Cheerwine is my drink.
