Part way through this bowl of Penzance in a 1990s smooth Peterson Captain Pete XL80 bulldog with a black vulcanite stem and p-lip. This will get me to dinner time.

Reacquainted myself with a 'baccy I got in many years ago and promptly forgot about - Dark Bird's Eye from G&H. Got this way back around '11/12 from the big Alfredo Buscati blow-out sale and didn't know anything about it at the time apart from the fact Mike said it was strong. Prolly smoked one bowl at the time and put it in the back of the bookcase and moved on.

Since I'm having a bit of a clearing out, decided to ferret this out and see if it floated the boat. But more importantly to see if it had that L-character I am not fond of.

After a few small bowls of it this weekend, I'm happy to say that I can't detect any old ladies perfume from this at all. But it is very, very strong in the nic-dept! So will keep this for the time being as an occasional smoke in a small pipe.

Used a cob on Sat, and a small Ashton 'dog on Sunday. The briar was mo betta!

Cheers,

RR
