4-5 when I'm gouging on it loaded... 6-7 when I'm gouging on it empty..

I average about 5.9-6.0 :D :D :D

Who cares about Horsepower numbers when ya have 2000lb of torque.

An 01-F-150, 97 Mark VIII and a 77 Electra- Glide. The wife drives an 06 Rav-4

Actually, I think I get the prize for worst MPG. I drive a Peterbilt Mixer truck for Cemex, they now come with automatic tranny's. 3-4 mpg.

Actually it's a company wide thing, not just California, and apparently Peterbilt was selling them as more economical due to less maintenance, no clutch, etc. Well, there's to 20% loss of MPG and the fact that any repairs now have to be sent out as the mechanics can't do anything with an auto like they could with a 9 speed Eaton Fuller. I'm surprised they didn't get a bridge in Brooklyn in the deal

I drive an 08' Honda Civic 5-speed and got it just in time to get the $1000 Eco-rebate from the government! It runs like a dream and have yet to have a single problem. Knock on wood.

PD & PB ---

I can trump you both for low mpg. It doesn't count as the thread topic because I didn't own the truck like you guys do, just drove it, but it's outrageous enough to relate anyway: Less than 1.5 mpg. 151,000 lbs, 105 feet long, 40 wheels, 550 hp, and whatever the max torque Cummins offers, over, up, and around 62 miles of steep Wyoming foothills at 7000+ feet altitude. Used to carry something they called "scrubber water" or "mine water" in tanks from the mine to a coal powered electric plant that used the stuff as part of its smokestack filtration system.

OK, you win LL!!! Wow, that's huge!! I've been watching the giant Yukes (monster sized dump trucks) pulling rock out of a big Army corps of engineers job we're working on, makes my mixer look like a toy

BTW, I don't own it, I'm a union contract driver. Those mixers are well over $150K now, I'd never be able to afford that and don't like wrenching so I'd never buy a used truck. I like just driving it and parking it at the shop when something's wrong, then grabbing a different truck to drive til mine is fixed

Pdiddy.. It was a Transexual Joke... or meant to be... I seem to be off my game today.
Had to explain Two wisecracks... sheeesh.

On really snowy days and if I can get to it before my wife does our 05' Jeep Liberty, great vehicle for our neck of the woods. My daily driver an 09' VW Jetta turbo diesel 6 speed standard , I'm averaging about 600 miles per tank full driving back and forth to work and running errands. We drove her to Cape Cod for a week of fun, 420 miles one way on 9 gallons of fuel.

Or Kentucky.......

Sold my Harleys in 02 and bought a silverado worktruck, v6, 5 speed, 20mpg, stuffed it with100 watts of pioneer so I can't hear the parts fall off it,,,,
At work I wrestle with an International, sometimes I win,,,,

Daily drivers a gas guzzling, gear hauling, guard rail smashing 2004 dodge ram quad cab. Still on the hunt for this bumper sticker that says "Hey you know all that gas you save in your prius? Here it goesssss"

1999 Ford F-150. I bought it brand new in January of '09. Haven't had a lick of trouble with it until this past week when the heater core went out. Taking it in today and dropping a few bills to fix that. I frequently drive my wife's 2005 Honda Pilot to work, too.

Planning on a new truck in 2011. Looking at Chevy Silverado and Ford again. My wife said she will drive the Honda until it falls apart. I have my doubts.

Yeah the heater core went out in my last F-150 and it's a pricey fix to have a shop do it. I just ended up driving it without heat for the last year I owned it. My new to me Ranger the heater works so well I rarely have the heat selected to above midway between cold or hot temp setting and the fan is on the first (lowest) setting. It will run you out of the truck if you go above that! Ford makes a superb truck!

I have a 2005 Chevy 2500 HD Crew Cab pickup (diesel) and the wife has a 2003 Chevy S-10 pickup. My truck has nearly sixty thousand miles on it and her's hasn't hit thirty thousand miles yet  . Guess who does all the driving? :lol!:
