That opening frame with Lemmon rolling around his eye had me questioning it, but then it quickly hooked me. The whole opening bedroom sequence was amazing. A movie like this would never be made today, but even a scene like that, though feeling familiar for the time, isn't something they'd bother with now either. I love patient character studies. A pretty dark movie for Jack Gilford's involvement too. I don't watch movies from that era much. The reminder of how grimy and gritty film production was is great and had me wanting to follow it with a music that feels urbanly filthy.Save The Tiger (1973)
